    No. Doesn't rain here everyday lol.

    But the water has been as high as the rocks near the restaurant (and almost to the parking lot AT the restaurant). But the water is prob 1/2 mile away from its normal level.

    My family spent several days in the California high desert over New Year's, taking day trips for hiking and rockhounding.

    I most enjoyed driving about 5 miles on the Red Canyon Jeep Trail north of the Salton Sea to explore an old fluorite mine. We're new to off-roading and probably used 4H and 4L more than most. But it was a good intro to the TRD OR's technical capabilities without especially high risk of damage or getting stranding on a 'solo mission'. There were segments where the approach and departure angles mattered, and 4L+MTS more comfortably handled a stretch of sandy wash-boarded trail.
