Did you go up to/past Piute? It snowed up there last week and I don't know how many of the snow gates are open/closed.

Our destination was Piute LO, so yes, the Piute Mtn Rd was open with a couple inches of snow. At the top (8200') there was a little more snow. Jawbone had a few rutty sections on the switchbacks. All snow gates were open.

    Hey Stuck Sucks,

Really like the tailgate here! Whats the story? No stamped "TACOMA"?

Nope. I was in Upper Muley Twist Canyon in Capitol Reef NP a year ago, and while turning around, I backed about 1" too far into a tree branch which was sticking straight out toward the truck (I never saw it). The end result was "time to get a new tailgate." I found a guy on eBay who sells the shell of the tailgate, pre-painted your color and new for around 500$. Since it wasn't a genuine Toyota part, he couldn't emboss the word "Tacoma." I finished the job for under 700$ (aka Stupid Tax). OEM would have been thousands. The TOYOTA steeker is my tip of the sombrero to the classic trucks of the '80s (of which I owed several). Thanks to @quickstop for inspiration.

Damn, that sucks. I immediately got vintage Toyota 4x4 vibes from the new tailgate.

@Stuck Sucks And what is the story behind the PEMEX plate? That is interesting...

Is this in honor of the esteemed state owned oil corp south of us?

I've seen a few tacos with pemex stickers around CA...

Yes, nothing more than that, although I had a hard time convincing a couple soldiers at a military checkpoint in Baja a month ago. I recently did the math and figured that I've been Baja bound 50+ times over the past 10 years (I worked with a desert race team and burned a LOT of Pemex).

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
    Decent fishing, nice area.
