Yea, bad timing on that. Weekends. Parking lots closed. Detours. I avoid it on weekends but I had to be up at Glacier Point on Saturday for SAR. It was a zoo!!

The bridge is by Lake Heyburn west of Kellyville. The lake is Shell Lake in Sand Springs. The third was taken in the Okmulgee Wildlife Management Area.

I like to hike the Four Mile-Panorama-JMT loop for training. It goes from the peace of the valley floor at sunrise and the relatively empty trail to the total zoo when you reach Glacier Point. Then as soon as you hit the Panorama trail it is quiet and peaceful again until you get to Nevada falls and then the zoo returns.

I have always been amazed that you can find solitude in Yosemite valley by simply walking a few feet off of the asphalt paths and onto the dirt ones.

I hope this photo shows up ok. Saw it in GC and it perfectly sums up 99% of the visitors at all the big parks.

I hiked sentinel dome yesterday with my family. Still a lot of snow... but on top we had the place to ourselves! It was cool enough that we could just walk on top without post-holing.

I was there yesterday too. After coming down from glacier point road we hit that traffic trying to go to curry village. Made it to the El Cap turn off and were like nope. So we left.

I live close so we go a few times a year and that was as bad as I've seen it.

I'm thinking I'll go mid week or wait until they get the roads fixed so traffic can flow smoothly.

My truck is behind a tree on the right hand side about a mile away at the trailhead. Just keep with the theme of this thread...

I've been reading mixed reviews on LED headlight conversions, but I love them!
