Looking for ideas on different racks to carry my canoe. I have a tool box so thinking crossbars on the cab instead of the bed.

I was wondering - racks specifically designed to carry canoes or kayaks seem pricey - what about a plain-jane ladder rack like any general contractor uses on pickups?

You’ll be fine with an OEM roof rack. Just lay the canoe on it, strap it down and tie off the bow and stern. If you don’t have a rack get some foam bumpers that slip over the sides of the canoe and lean it against the back of the cab. Strap it down the bed tie downs front and rear. Carried canoes both ways a ton and never had any problems.

I just ratchet strap mine around my rack.. seems to work well, though the wife wants a kayak so we’re gonna get J hooks.. but I don’t think they make J Hooks for a canoe EC6D970E-E858-4F52-BAB2-7FD7533B08FB.jpg

I’m not aware of an OEM rack for the access cab.

I haven’t yet but might if I get to go canoe camping sometime. Right now using it to take the kids on scenic rides.

What do you mount your motor to? Looks great. Just got a Gheenoe and I don't want to trailer it.

Universal Tracrack from lowes or home depot and some 3rd gen bed rail clamps off Amazon. I cut 4" or 5" off so its closer to cab height but I only haul ww boats. Stock height should haul a canoe fine. 400lb rating

If hauling a canoe or Gheenoe just be careful about picking up the rear. My brother put the first dent in my trucks roof by not waiting for me to grab the front first.
