Great article. I used to teach photography in Yosemite and everyone wanted to talk about this camera or that lens. I had worked with guys that had $50k+ worth of camera gear that took the most BORING pictures.

The reality is, that it is the photographer not the camera that makes the pic.

Love seeing your adventures by the way

    Looks good!

As a normal person who loves good pictures, I've learned that if I take a ton of photos - I get lucky

Not in the big mountains but about the only picture I have of it. Little load development before the hunts!

Here she is the day I bought it, I left the dealer and drove right to a 12-mile long mountain trail. It only has 38 miles on it in this photo.

...After gawking for several minutes at the brilliant green of patinaed copper in the early morning sun, we retreated from the summit - back to the Tacoma waiting below. Once there, we didn't have far to go - as retraced our path down Echo Canyon - before we reached the narrow dry fall that we'd encountered the evening before.

No longer trying to find camp before dark, we had a few more moments to savor this interesting couple hundred feet of road, and I took full advantage....

Not sure if I have posted this here or not. This is in Rocky Mountain National Park just a day or so before the fires came into the park this last year.

...We wouldn't see much pavement on this trip, and a gravel road would have been a much more pleasant drive than the few paved miles of Ivanpah Rd. that would deliver us to the New York Mountains. With disintegrating pavement that made us thankful for our aired down tires, we were glad to see the pavement ends sign as we crossed the tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad....

......But - the draw of this place - for us, at any rate - was the solitude. Unlike every other dune field I've visited, there were no footprints on these dunes before we set out to explore......
