Last weekend scouting for snow camp for this coming weekend.

 

Prescott Arizona. Who says Arizona is to hot?

 

Eastern Sierras. This destination was very.....rewarding.
Waking down the mine was creepy as fuck all alone. Went about a quarter mile down the mine before I turned around.

 

You should check out the Brown Monster on the other side...I've heard they connected at some time.

 

You guys have nerves of steel going down those mines. You couldn’t get me down one of those things.

VETO! The Horse Heavens are not mountains!! lol although when its icy they can be worse

 

Looks like a great spot! Is it a place you're allowed to camp or only day use?

 

Day use only

Outside of the city limits of Sedona is some nice dispersed camping. It all depends what time of year you would be coming, in the summer months the best would be on top of Schnebly Hill in the forest. Winter months west Sedona off the 89. They also have several campgrounds available.

There is no dispersed camping near broken arrow. Maybe 5 to 10 miles away.

 

The first time I took my wife to Chicken Point, it was still open to vehicles. All the way out there, she was thinking it was named Chicken Point because there was a rock that looked like a chicken. When we got there, I drove straight out and went counterclockwise around the rock putting her on the drop-off side (she is not a fan of heights). Fun stuff.

Also at that time, you could drive on Submarine Rock -- the entire Broken Arrow road was much rougher too (over the years the pink jeep guys added dirt to mellow out the steeper rock climbs). We used to camp near the sink hole.
