Yes this is in California-Monache Meadows specifically. Southern Sierra, Kern Plateau.
Great place to explore\camp, but the Kern river has all but dried up. In August there were pools in the river with the fishes' fins sticking out of the water-so sad. Hopefully we will get all the rain and snow we need to put a dent in this drought.
