I've used a hilift on the trails more times than I can even remember now. Sometimes it has been the only thing that got us out of the situation. Every truck that leaves the pavement should have one in the truck all the time.

My most recent time was over Labor Day weekend a couple weeks ago. I buried my Cruiser up to the frame in a soft riverbed of silt and gravel. We tried to snatch the truck out with a strap and another truck and it wouldn't move it even a centimeter. We couldn't get the other truck to the bank in front of my truck to use as a winch anchor so we spent some time digging and finally a truck drove up the river bank in front of us and we could use him as a winch anchor. But before we could do that we needed to break the suction. We used the hilift to lift the front of the truck up out of the mud. We used a big log as a base so the jack didn't sink in the mud. We got the tires up out of the mud enough that we could slide a set of maxtrax under the tires to help get the truck back up onto the surface when we winched it instead of just continuing to plow through deep mud. Worked perfectly.

    not stuck yet.

Awesome story and great pictures. Thanks for sharing man. Totally agree that any truck that hits the trail should definitely have one!

I had a similar story to @TIPICOTACO. Was solo wheeling and got stuck in the woods. Walked 2.5 miles in the snow to Home Depot and back to get a come along to try to yank myself out. Was buried to my frame so it didn't do shit. The moment I got sliders I got a hi lift. If I had the hi lift I would have been able to self recover with my shovel.

That sucks having to walk all that way in the snow. Hi Lift sure makes things a lot easier when you get stuck!

The Hi-Lift off-road jack is an amazing tool. I use mine frequently for regular vehicle maintenance.

Last time I used in dirt was in freezing temps in Death Valley.

I thought I'd lost the bead on tire.

    DSC01937_0cdf335b0d74e433965f5427cdece304bf9ed44b.jpg
Strapped the axle to the frame, and jacked it up.
    DSC01939_5825b04810da6c6dab8ca550831ac4c86a57ea93.jpg

Put air into it, tried but couldn't find holes.
    DSC01940_a568574c83af30d0a56090834430240d0db3d615.jpg

Found the holes later in the day, and plugged both in the freezing winds at Chloride Cliffs.

It's so hard to work in the cold! Everything is so much more difficult! Hands turn blue, tire plugs are all stiff! Had to be thawed using heater vents.

there are multiple story's here of people popping the tire bead off of the rim. This has never happened to me and i was curious if you could point me in the right direction or tell me how to fix this on the trail if it ever does happen.

I have an on board air so I took a ratchet strap around the middle of the tire and cinched down as much as I could while filling up and I bounced the tire around and kicked it and everything and got lucky haha. But I hear of people carrying an aerosol can such as hair spray and you spray it around the bead and then strike a lighter on it and it blows the bead back out on to the rim haha. Look that up and maybe you'll find a cool video or something

    Lonestar Toyota Jamboree.

Getting a TW member off trail. His front ball joint gave out at the beginning of a trail, and it was too difficult to pull him out from behind. So we slowly pulled him through the trail.

    And onto a truck

    Only took about 10 hours.

Towards the end of it, 2 Dodge 2500s were needed to help pull up a hill, along with a Taco to act as a puller on the side.

A lot of vehicles were used.
