Shrug. I value my eyes. And my teeth. Having heard many rocks & bugs (and once what I'm pretty sure was a sparrow) bounce off my helmet over the years, I'm always glad I wear it. Plus I ruined one when I laid a bike down years ago. If I didn't have a reason before, I sure as hell did after that...
And I don't see you going open face in your sig pic...

    Hell no..
    Just bustin ya.
    I have all 3 styles.
I did get hit with a rock from a dump truck going the other way.
Without a helmet I'd be dead.
I rode without a helmet once and I did not like the feeling.
    I felt very vunerable.
    Always have one on.
I split a new full face when I took a tree out in the woods.
    Oh yea.
36 degrees in the sig pic.

what about when you smack em with the face shield and have a HUGE splatter of bug across it. used to hate when that happened. one time last summer after a rain shower me and a friend were riding around, at a decent pace, i noticed he had slowed down and when we stopped my jacket was covered in splatter marks. he was covered in welts where the beetles had hit him. needless to say he purchased a coat soon after

Military street fighter. I picked it up for $300... I just REALLY needed a bike again.

I already have the headlight set. I changed or the rear shocks and will probably do a gsx-r front end swap.

My last two bikes were a 2008 ninja 250r and a 2009 zx6r. Can't afford a bike like that right now with what I have been doing to the truck lol

nice i love cheap projects, as long as the engine is solid, you can do whatever you want. had an old XJ650 i got for 100 bucks, was chopping tons of stuff off till someone offered me 500 bucks haha

Ya. That's kinda of where I'm at. I will build it how I want it with the intent of keeping it but if someone offers me the right price then I could let it go. Either way is a fun project.

It runs very strong. I got it for so cheap because the po couldn't get it running. It had spark to one side but not the other. Turns out there was a wiring harness unplugged lol

Not to one-up, but it was 28 for my ride in yesterday. If I'd been open-faced I'd probably have gotten frostbite, haha! I love spring riding for the lack of bugs, but I don't particularly care for the temperatures in the morning.

For me it was trying to avoid a Ford Taurus that pulled out in front of me on a curve coming into Manchester. Bastard looked right in my direction and pulled out anyway. I jammed the brakes, laid it down, and slid into the ditch. By the time I got the bike shut off and stood back upright he was gone.

When I had my run in with a car 40 years ago the exact same thing. Looked right at me.
So now if I see them glance at me I go into defense mode.
    Saved my butt more times.
    Naaaa no one up. :)

Na. That was minor. It was the open manhole cover at 50mph at night that messed me up.

It's actually an 09 ZX6R. First year of the new gens at the time. Kawi wanted them to look like the 10R.
