Got my bike back yesterday. Runs great now after the plug/oil change. Sounds different, too. I noticed it, and pulled up somewhere and one of my buddies said somethin about it. I thought my mind was just playing tricks on me. She's raspier and a little deeper now. Love it. Pics to come the next time I get to ride her :D

As explained before, the headlight cutoff in the start switch prevents excessive draw/strain on the battery while the electric starter is engaged.

I own it, bought it from him a couple months ago. It was his factory 2013 bike that he raced. Its pimped out with all the trimmings.

The more I ride it the more I LOVE it. Getting pretty good at riding it too!

Thanks man. I'm kinda on the fence about the sissybar. I definitely like the bike without it because it makes the bike look smaller and sportier. I originally made the sissy bar so that I could pack a fairly large bag, for long trips, and have a tall support to strap it to and support the fender all in one. But after riding it roughly 300 miles one way and being sore for a couple weeks, I decided that long trips won't be made unless the bike gets trailered lol. The bar is completely bolt on, so it's extremely easy to remove. I've been meaning to make some fender supports so that I can take the tall bar off and only use it if the need arises.

Sorry in advance if this is not the place to post this

I am in the market for a cage. The gf is looking to take the motorcycle class soon and would like to use my bike to get a little practice. I currently have sliders but won't trust them with how much I can foresee her dropping the bike..so a cage it is. I have actually been looking into getting one for a while. But since Tygershark is no longer in business, I have to settle :pout: I don't ride twisties, but if I did, I could swap the cage for my sliders I have currently. Thinking about a subcage too if I can swing it but I am just worried about the motor for now.

Does anyone have any experience with the IMPAKTECH cages? They run about $300-$350, look really clean and don't stick out to next week like some cages do. Any opinions, suggestions etc would be appreciated.

Impaktech cages are awesome and provide a ton of protection. I loved it on my f4i so I could run FF. My bike hit the ground a ton in the lot and they took hit after hit. Since she is just learning to ride and not stunting I know this will be more than fine for you. The subcage was also nice to have because the bike definitely hit both.

Only thing that pissed me off was that the delrin sliders broke off on the first hit. They may have re-designed them though.

Here it is on my old f4i:

Looks like you don't even need to cut the fairing on the 636 either, right?

Thanks for the info!! It's more of an assurance/peace of mind type thing in case some idiot is sitting on it in the parking lot of Walmart and he knocks it over.

I emailed SON and am awaiting his reply about cutting the fairings.
