Holy CRAP! That is just a quote you got, or what you actually pay?!
I have a 2000 RC51, which I bought new, and the most I have paid for a year of insurance (full coverage) was about $1000. And was was only for the first year I had it. It was eventually down to about $430 full coverage. But it has crept back up to about $600 full coverage over the past few years, even though I have no convictions or accidents, in over 13 years. But yeah, it's still rediculous for about 6months of riding here if you are lucky.

That's what I paid for my RC51 insurance. My hypermotard is only $350 a month :/
I wish I would only have to pay $600 a year!

shit your paying a lot to ride. how many violations have you had? hell I've had my fair share of tickets and my 12' zx6 was only 100 monthly with full coverage. after more tickets I just recently got back driving with a LP license and mine is only $175 month for full coverage in our new 14 passat. 350 a month is crazy:eek:

Clean driving record. It's just a rip off to ride here. The sad thing is that the riding is even shitty. Dirty straight rough pothole filled roads lol

It pays to find out which way your insurance charges. My old insurance did it by a formula that considered displacement and cost of the bike, it was fine when I had a GSXR600, not so great when I got a KLR650 because it was MORE than the GSXR because of the bigger engine. Again fine when I got my Ducati 748. When they wanted to charge me MORE for my Kawasaki Vulcan 900 (a complete slug) than they charged for the Ducati 748, I changed insurance companies.

Dang, I'll never complain about my $600/yr full coverage again! Didn't realize I had it so good!
