From the couple of forums I'm on, tire change labor seems to be the #1 most inconsistent pricing I've ever seen. I have a place local that is $15/wheel if I take them in off the bike. Other places have quoted me $50-75 each. I've heard of people paying upwards of $100/tire. I just wouldn't pay that myself.

MY recommendation is to quit using MC shops, and find a place that does a lot of ATV/UTV/Side By Side upgrades - those guys change wheels/tires like some people change socks. Same equipment needed though - you might find better results from someone that does that work all day long.

Higher end shops don't want to waste top mechanics time replacing tires when you didn't give the business the profits on the tire purchase. That guy makes more than per 15 mins than what your paying per tire.

I was shocked (pleasantly) that the Ducati rep in San Diego price matched my set from an online competitor, and the labor charge was minimal.
When I called when I said I already had tires, and the labor price was almost double.
They aren't there to lose money.

The Bolt (942cc) is extreamely customizable. Lots of easy things can be done. First model year but there are a ton of exhausts, controllers, air boxes.

I pulled all the heat shields off and high temp sprayed black. Few other things also...this winter I want to do the exhaust/air/fuel, sell the passenger seat/pegs and chop the fender.

    Fun bike

I love the bolts. After college I want either the bolt or the 883 iron. Love the look of the two, I bet I could find a cheaper 883 than a bolt though

Probably at this point...Bolts are new for 2014.
I paid $7800 ($200 title/etc) in May of this year. 883's are plentyful.
I tested a 883 Iron and was shocked to see they wanted more than MSRP at my local dealer...$2k more than the Bolt....and I got real breaks and more HP/torque...and, It's a Yamaha;)

I can't say that's the way it is anymore. my 2004 Sportster still has the original battery and the only thing I have done to it that was "necessary" was put on a rear tire.

I've got an 09 Dyna and all I've done is change oil, replace 1 battery and keep the tires aired up. Currently at about 10K miles
