More and more of the people I ride with locally are switching to a dual sport haha

Every single one of them enjoy it more than their street bike, hands down. Really the only downside to me is highway riding.

My first (and only) bike.. 2007 Honda 919. Thing was a beast until it got stolen last year, never to return again. I'm sure it's for the best, I would've hurt myself on that bike (I have arthritis and can't see over my shoulder).

But if you're looking at something like the 690 still then I wouldn't be worried.

I want both, a street bike for riding with the wife and a dual for mobbing in the pine barrens.

I just bought a led bar for some more light during night rides. If i run the main power off the battery and the power for the switch off the headlight wire, so you cant turn the light on without the bike on. Anyone see any problems with that?
lifetime led 6inch bar plus wiring harness.

The FZ-09 is really sharp. Looks like it's about to attack you just sitting still. Those were my thoughts when I saw one a few weeks ago.

No not looking at something that size anymore. Too much money for a hooning toy.

    But to keep on topic

Im gonna run it off a switch and only run it at night. I just wanna wire it up so people walking by cant turn it on while im not around and kill my battery. So main power to the battery and run the switch power off the head light wire should be fine then. So unless the bike is on the switch doesn't have power to turn the light on. I wanna get this right cause ill be keeping this fun little bike a long time.

Awesome bike. We sold a 76' KZ900 we had been restoring to some guy in Australia (I guess he said they are big down there). My dad bought it new and it had 118k miles on it when it started running poorly. Turned out the cam chain tensioner in block cracked (it was plastic) everything else looked great. Did a top end rebuild, carbs and bore kit to about 1015 cc's and painted it black. Wish we still had it, I ride a 07 kawasaki Vulcan nomad 1600 now. Got rid of a 98 Suzuki Bandit 1200 for it, much more comfortable.

So I absolutely love my EX500, great bike. However, it is kind of boring to look at. Without the funds for a new bike I want to customize it into a 'streetfighter' look

Are the headlamps on the second image just called dual headlights? I can't seem to find ones that look like those. May just not know my motorcycle terms :p

That's sweet man! I like it!
Love the dual headlights. I call em dual headlights but and have also seen them referred to as bug eyes and twins. Try dual headlamps vs lights :notsure:

You would probably have to retrofit triumph dual headlights somehow. KCCO

If I am able to do this it will be awesome. Yeah I think its called dual headlamps on the interwebs. And probably triumph lights because his other bike is one. Or should I go single light route?

I think I like the dual lights a bit better actually

Single is cool but the duals just look better in my opinion.
