Thanks for giving me hope! I was starting to feel like at 33 I will never save enough to buy a Ducati! Especially not with 2 kids that constantly "need" things...

 My kids were 9 & 10 when I was 33, and most of my $$$$ went there, as it should. Now I have grandkids. :broccoli:

I had a Triumph Sprint RS 955i first, but it fell on me  & was damaged enough to be totalled. I got a very nice check from the insurance for it, which is how I paid for a lot of the Duc.

I imagine that used 1098's & 1198's are going to get a little less expensive soon, with the new 1199 coming out.

I actually miss my old V-Twins...I've been through 2 SV1000S's, one RC-51 (track-only) and really, really miss the sound of my old Super Hawk. Over the years I've lost most of my photos but here is one of the '05 SV1000S...(I think)

I've never ridden one, but I've heard that those Sv's are nice all-around bikes. :)

I've ridden my friend's '07 CBR 1000RR once, and it was very smooth & quiet compared to my Duc; I could hardly tell it was running. Handled well & had good power, but I'm 53 & have arthritis, and the engine was just too wide for my ancient knees. Started to hurt after about 30 miles. The narrow L-twin configuration works better for me.

There's a couple of guys that run RC 51's at the track here; they sound great! A little hard to cool in NM temperatures sometimes, though.

    1. The SV's for the money I think were one of the most overlooked and poorly marketed bikes in the last decade. Not sporty enough to be a sportbike and not comfortable enough to be a UJM. Suspension was easily fixed, forks you used a proper spring-rate and 10W fork oil and a rear shock off of a ZX636 or gixxer with a good spring gave you the adjustment you needed and it only cost about $200 if you do the work yourself.

    2. Same problem I had/have with my CBR, the tank makes you feel like an over-stuffed taco but does provide good support under hard braking on the track. Long street rides tend to hurt my hip joints from being splayed open like yer in a gynocologist stirrups.

    3. The side mounted radiators Honduh put in the SuperHawk, RC-51, and last generation VFR800 Interceptors literally baked the heck out of ya. After a track session on a RC-51 you leave the key on and point a box fan at the front fender...then you put tire-warmers on when the weather was hot.

LED light bar in the lower grill. Trailer plug relocate. Auxiliary reverse LED's wired in to be manual or auto on when in reverse.
and since my RSVR and Tacoma are clean at the same time, I thought a picture would be in order.

I use 70 percent of my bikes potential about 10 percent of the time, but its good to have it 100 percent of the time.....200 hp at the crank...550 lbs wet( i know shes a whale compared to a 1000RR) ...never fails to put a grin on my face...which is why i bought her
