i'm not a harley basher, i just hate the Harley (pretentious) attitude.
my personal observation has been that people, like my dad, think when they get a motorcycle, they HAVE to get a harley, and that its the only american motorcycle
in this part of the country, there are literally tens of thousands of "weekend warriors" that think because they own a harley, they are a hell's angel, a badass, and that they are better than you.
i see alot of this attitude from riders who have never ridden a bike other than a harley and think they are the best.
i've ridden a ton of motorcycles and harleys, imo, are overpriced. you are paying for 2 things: an image, and all the deadbeats that harley finances that flake on their payments ( i have literally seen people get financed that were in debt up to their eyeballs, with shitty credit, and HD financed them anyway at a 27% interest rate. ludicrous on the buyer's part and on HDs part)

if you have ridden many different bikes and think harleys are the best, good for you. you are entitled to that opinion. if you have only ridden harleys and think they are the best, you are ignorant and narrow minded.

i'm not here to bash, i was just talking about personal experience. i ride almost everyday, and will ride as long as there is no ice/snow on the road or snow in the forecast (almost wrecked 2 days ago when i hit black ice in a turn). sometimes i won't ride if the forecast is torrential rain, all day long.
buy what you want so long as you ride the shit out of it
but an $18,000 fair-weather garage queen is a waste
    that's my $0.02

go take a look at where a lot of their parts come from. it ain't the US of A anymore.

My biggest problem with harleys is the way their riders have treated me for the last 13 years. I've been riding sport bikes and always had respect for any motorcycle rider. as the years have gone on, i've lost complete respect for the people decribed above. They treat me like shit for no reason. Harley guys won't wave back, unlike the rest of the riders i encounter. They rarely will talk to you at a bike gathering. Nose stuck up in the air like their shit don't stink. My attitude now is FUCK 'EM. They've earned it.

You might want to check the origin stickers on your wiring harnesses and electronics. There's almost no such thing as pure Made in America anymore. Rumor has it that HD is about 65% US origin, and Victory is a little more than that.

As someone who rides a Harley, who doesn't dress up like a "Billy Badass," I find a lot of Harley guys don't talk to me either. I could care less.

I enjoy my Harley, in part, because it is so simple.

I have noticed, I can ride my Speed Triple after my Harley, but going Speed Triple to Harley just doesn't work for me.

I ride a Harley...I look like a Billy Bad Ass, but I wave at everyone on 2 wheels, including Scooters.I respect ALL riders. I used to ride Japanese Sportbikes and miss it at times. I still ride everyday and a TON on my days off. I will ride in the rain if I have to, but prefer not to. Same for 35* weather. I have an addiction of getting my face in the wind. I guess I'm one of the few Harley Owners who does not have the attitude as some of you have mentioned. Hell, I'll ride my Harley in a pack of Vespas, I ain't proud. :D

This is mine its a honda shadow. I was gonna get a "fast" bike like an 1100 or something around there but considering I'm still new to riding I got this, plus I got a real good deal on it.
