Gotcha. The V and L twins are torque monsters which are great for the tighter twisties, especially as designed with the lightweight upright riding characteristics.
However an aggressive racing cam makes a huge difference. My bike runs low 10's stock and took 3rd in the v twin open class against the 1198 s and other bigger twins at laguna seca.
The power is ALWAYS right there, from 2500 rpms on. My previous inline 4's were only snappy at high rpm's, and not nearly as snappy.

I bet you would have a blast on the street in the tight stuff. The HM will outperform track bikes on the twisties.

I agree on the v/l-twin thing, and even most triples too. My local track is tight and not very high speed so it's not so much because it's down on power or anything. I'm just not comfortable on it As I'm about 5 seconds faster on my old sv650 and 848, heck even my first time out on a friends 675 I was at least 3 seconds faster on a bike I've never ridden.

The hyper is just a streetbike, even in a good riders hands it just doesn't do well on most tracks if you put it up against other bikes with the same agility and handling. Just my personal opinion anyways.

I've got a black one.... Is this your first 636? They aren't your average 599cc sport bike.... Bastards have some torque that will sneak up on you.

Yea, not cbr or r1 quick but it goes. Its a detuned version of a cbr1000 engine. But i learned real quick i would rather have comfort then speed.

It's funny, I just sold my Harley, but kept my Speed Triple because cruisers are so uncomfortable to me.

The XX was a fantastic bike! But, 10 years later it was time for something a little newer. I haven't had much time in the ZX's saddle yet so the jury is still out on whether it was a good move or not...

Yea, I weigh 280 and the way the cb1000 makes your legs set and smashes the goods up against the tank it made everything from my legs down wall asleep after 20 mins of riding. Everybody likes something different i guess. What kind of harley did you have?

if you want to ride a sport bike you need something bigger like a Busa with Buell pegs to give you more leg room ;)
