Took the Honda VTX1800F out for a ride today:

 

Here are a few shots of my 1980 Honda CX500D project.

It's taken apart right now for powder coating the frame, painting the tank, front fender, seat pan, side panels, engine, and a little welding.

I love the CX motors! I've got an 82 CX500 Turbo and two 82 Silverwings with that motor. A lot of people don't know that engine was designed for dirt track racing. Good looking bike!

Is that a super sport tank?

 

It's the large D tank. Had to get the rust out & line the tank with POR15.

Was going to build a Cafe Racer until I saw the Hotwings Glass "dirt track" seat pan for the GL1000. Installing european handlebars instead of clubman bars, too. Have done some mods, upgraded ignition to a Ignatech system, rejetted carb for pod air filters & low restriction exhaust, new front master brake cylinder, Ducati electric fan, All Balls steering head tapered bearings, and 78 CX500 wheels to be installed. Made a tray for the battery & electrics to be installed where the original air filter was located.

Been a while since I posted. I just washed my bike today. Getting ready to put some miles on her with all the nice weather we have been getting.

My 2012 1199 Panigale S. Stock for now and took delivery today. This bike is a dream to ride.

Any of you guys ever ride in the Malibu area ?

 

If I was to ever own a street bike hands down it would be one of these. Sick looking bike man can't wait to see what you have planned for it.

 

I'll change out the windscreen to a higher bubble and likely put on the Termignoni slip on and then upgrade to a full later. And get nice sticky tires for the track.

 

Just got mine yesterday. 2009 Ninja with 2600 miles. Just a 250...it's my first real bike (I've ridden dirt bikes forever), and I really just wanted it for mileage. Got a good deal on it. I'll upgrade eventually.

I've only had to 130, but it gets there quick!

 

you can turbo/supercharge any motor. Its typically more difficult on a bike due to size and space concerns.

 

Ryan, I had the deposit at Newport beach. But they took longer. Southbay was awesome to work with. Very happy
