    it was beyond gnarly. I had this set-up for like 2 or 3 weeks, showed all my friends, then took it out. It was just way too much for me to handle.

    I would imagine. They are a lot closer to your head then they are in a car. :) 1 would probably have been enough to give you some serious sound in a truck cab.

    Lowered 3/4, debadged, led tails, projector headlights with hids, billet grill, blacked out windows, painted front and rear bumper and grill shell. Inside, 4 crappy 15's, suede wrapped headliner and door panel inserts, alpine double din, few painted pieces inside, and every led is either blue or white.

    No "kit" involved. I took a tape measure to my buddies house with the exterior dimensions of the screen and after 15 minutes I believe the quote was "yea, we can make it fit, we might need to cut up your dash a bit, but it will fit...barely, lol".

    I've been wanting to do something like this for a while, a custom computer with a touchscreen. But living in New England, I'm not sure how the computer would hold up with the weather going anywhere from 10 below to 110 and humid as hell.

    Buy one with a solid state drive, or swap out the existing drive for an ssd. Those are ridiculously heat, cold, and shock resistant.

    The only thing you are going to have a problem with temperature swings like that is your fiberglass cracking overtime. If you just use a mount, or a regular 7" dashkit you will be fine. A decent monitor will tolerate pretty drastic temperature swings. Just don't buy some tiny ass case and shove the thing under your seat with a single 60mm fan trying to cool it after it has been sitting in the sun for 12 hours.
