Thank you! And I just think you have to have that converter box. Check with your local stereo shop and see what they can do for you.

Yes Touchscreen can be very expensive, but they have great settings and features. It has Garmin GPS system, BlueTooth, iPod-iPhone, and sooooooooo many settings for whatever you are running (subs, amps, tweeters, etc.)

Some pics of my upgrade... have the Pioneer AVIC-Z2 with a hard drive, Bluetooth, iPod controls, XM, DVD, camera. Overhauled all the speakers and wiring, and added amps and a sub.

I love this unit. I was going to upgrade to the Z110BT, but I think there's a Z120BT model coming out soon that is the 7" version of this model. If it does, I'm getting it... I love the iPhone-like function of swiping your finger on the screen to scroll through songs, contacts, etc.

There are upgrade disks... The D3 you have requires a different map upgrade than my Z2 since my unit installs maps on the hard drive. The link for the 09 disks for both units should be here or here.

Nice...... Now go to the craft store and get a sheet of black self-stick felt and line the inside of the storage cubbie. It adds a nice finishing touch and keeps everything in there from rattling. 1 sheet is plenty and should only cost around $.99.

I did mine and keep my Oakleys in there. No worries about scratching the lenses. :D

    No problem.

I used plain old file folders to make templates of each side, bottom, back, and then cut the felt.

Take your time on the sides. The sides are tapered, not a true rectangle. They get a bit larger toward the front.

Its a pioneer shallow mount being pushed by an Alpine MRP-M500...a simple but effective solution for what I need (good articulate bass, without a thump to the wallet). The box was custom built.
