Level 8 Bully Pros with 285/75/16 General Grabber 2 A/T. Going on Thursday with an Icon Stage 4 suspension lift. Called Icon and asked questions about the wheel and tire size. Said there shouldn't be any rubbing. They recommend 285/70/17 or the size I have... it's a wash. I will post pics next weekend!IMG_0827.jpg

I like and wanted wheels with a center cap. These don't come with any. I still dig them and want to roll differently than all the guys with their Method wheels here in SAN Diego!!! I won't bag on them as I almost bought some. I like the bead protection rings that screw on. I got the yellow colored zinc lug nuts too. Since the truck is really blacked out, I got California black and yellow throw back plates, these wheels and everything will accent each other!!! Should come out looking cool and handling well when done. I know it is a lot more info than needed in the response.... I am super geeks to get this done!

I went with the 10 ply because I was originally going to buy a small camper trailer to haul around the mountains, but I just decided to go with a soft topper and sleep in the bed instead haha. But oh well doesn't bother me any I'll change them to the 6 ply when it comes time. The shop that originally instilled by lift had my coilovers almost maxed out but I cranked them down to where only 2.13 of threads are exposed. I didn't get rubbing before but once I made my changes and everything settled I had to to cmc and trim some of the plastic. Ive cut enough now to where I can run 35s next time.

I worked with tires for a few years when I was younger. 10 ply tires only belong on full size trucks!!! The General tires have an 8 ply which is more than accommodating..... and durable on the trail and rubbing off of obstacles. 6 plus are good enough for a mid size truck. 8 will offer more protection and more weight.

That makes sense, I probably would have done the same. I figured my beds generally empty other than when it's full of camp gear or hauling mtn bikes around neither of which are much weight. Did your ride quality enhance once you cranked them down a bit? i'm thinking i'll just do the cmc and trimming from the jump so I don't have to worry about it once everything settles.

Good to know, I went with 6 ply for the weight savings and didn't want a stiffer ride than necessary. How do you like your stage 4 kit? did you have to cmc or trim to fit your tires?

I will have the suspension installed on Thursday. I will post pics and keep you updated on what I think about it. I'm sure the front skirt will have to come off and the mud flaps too. I spoke with Icon about the tire and wheel size and they said 285/75/16 should be a good fit. They recommend 285/70/17 bit the 75/16 is pretty much a wash as far as size goes.... which I already knew and that's why I pulled the trigger on the wheels. I will be picking the truck up Thursday night and will post pic.

Oh yeah when they were also cranked up there was a popping sounding coming from the coilovers. Once I called Icon they told me not to have more than 2.13" of exposed threads. That's what they have on their expo runner and they said if more threading is exposed it has a serious chance of the coils binding. I have the fronts set to 5 and the rears set a little bit firmer. Love the stage 7 kit with their bumpstops and would recommend to anybody

That's good to know thanks for the heads up. Are you using the AAL that came in the kit or did you opt for a different leaf pack? The stage 7 would be badass, I just couldn't justify the price difference to get the CDV but i'm sure it's worth every bit of it.

I currently have the AAL that came with the kit not the best, but not the worst either. By the end of the week I will be ordering a set of custom Alcans. A few of my buddies who run titan swapped Xterra's run Alcans and say they wouldn't go any other way with leaf packs

I had to do the cmc, but trimmed some extra parts so I can fit 35s whenever my current tires wear out
