The brown speeders are from set 9489. But there have been a ton of other versions.

Hmm, those must be a different design than the ones I have some of the same parts though.

there are a few different designs of the speeders.

i think the speeder would make a good UCS.
might even be cheaper than all the rest

Ultimate Collector Series. These are the sets that are more like models. Most come with a stand and a description plaque.

I don't like and think Lego should destroy it, primarily because it really diminishes anything I've ever done! Don't get me wrong, I've built some pretty cool shit, but how can I compete with that?

Nothing new yet. Still ordering parts. I made a point to substtute out a lot of the colored bricks the designer used with black and gray bricks to make it appear more like a model, so it's taken me longer to build my parts list and get everything ordered. I have a crew of 22 Snowtroopers, 4 Imperial officers, 2 AT-AT drivers, and General Veers all ready to man the walker tho ;-)

New research shows that LEGO people are getting angrier, a change that could negatively effect your child's playtime.
According to a CNN report , Christoph Bartneck, a robot expert at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, examined 6,000 of the popular figures to find that their happy, smiling expressions are being replaced with disgruntled, angry ones.
"We cannot help but wonder how the move from only positive faces to an increasing number of negative faces impacts how children play," Bartneck said in a statement.
Children around the world spend around five billion hours playing with LEGOs each year, according to the company's website .
The University said, "Designers of toy faces should take great care to design the expressions and to test their effect since toys play an important role in the development of children."
LEGO representatives were not available to comment on this new study.

 

I wonder what they think the reason is why they are unhappy?

I picked up a new minifig last night. The paintball guy. I just felt the packages until I could feel the painball gun in there. Im still looking more Medusa.
