In August I hit a log end that was jutting into the road, duhh..I was in 1st, maybe 2nd gear, going slow, the log jammed in between the passenger side ARB bumper wing end & the right front tire. I had to cut the log end off with my chainsaw then use a 10lb maul to knock the chunk (18"X24") stuck between the bumper wing & tire, out. The truck was hung up on the end of the log like a coat on a hanger. The weight of the truck bent the ARB bumper wing upward into the fender flare, quarter panel, cracked the headlight & shoved parts upward & back only on passenger side. Body shop said the frame wasn't damaged. So now after 2weeks of repairs & replacements(ARB bumper was replaced) I picked up my truck & immediately hear chirping noises along with a metallic clinking sound when starting off in 1st gear & then into 2nd gear! The sound reminds me of when I had the serpentine belt replaced recently, except there was no metallic clinkling sound associated with that. I have 115,000 miles on her, solid maintenance (lube-oil-filter changed by local certified Toyota shop every 5k) no previous wrecks, had Alignment checked day after event(it was fine) suspension checked out fine, so what the hell could this sound be!? Metallic sounds making me nervous. Any help with tactics or where to start woul be appreciated. Thanks

Sheet metal possibly rubbing something. I would look behind headlight area where there is sheet metal supports the body shop didn't see or care because you cant see either.

After my frame was replaced there was a metal scraping noise - I found the brake backing plate hitting the rotor - the Toyota mechanic that took it for a test drive after the frame replacement didn't hear it ?? Probably not your problem but something to consider - the brake backing plate is very thin metal and doesn't take much to bend and is in the wheel well where the log was.

Since these noises are new to me, or did not occur prior to delivery to the Auto Body shop, I'm going to insist that my insurance carrier pays for the diagnosis, repairs & or replacement/s of any parts involved.
