Once you hit 725 miles the fuel economy automagically improves by 4mpg

As tw's resident mathematician, I can tell you that we do not have a valid sample on fuely. 9 trucks cannot represent a population.

Of course. Still interesting. Up to 12 trucks now and mpg is going higher, that's nice to see at least.

However, why the shit doesn't fuelly specify 4x4 vs 4x2 in the submodel categories? Arg.

This is the first car i've had that tells me fuel economy, and it's helped me change my driving habits (really it's become more of a game). Per the computer I've been getting the following:

    - On my 13 mile commute to work (mostly highway) I'm getting consistent 24-26mpg. I feel like if I went on a longer road trip, i could get 28mpg. This is driving at 60-65 on flat road and not changing the throttle position. (the car slows down to 50-55 on up hills, and then speed back up on the downhills)

    - Average gas mileage including city driving on my last tank was 22 mpg.

This is a 4x4 limited. I'm very impressed with the fuel economy so far. I think the trick is to get into 6th gear and don't change throttle position, because accelerating is when i notice the fuel economy take a plunge.

Looks like they just added 4WD or RWD as an option when you edit your vehicle. Hopefully they'll segregate them soon. The filter option doesn't show that as an option yet.

this is after two round trips to work taking county roads with some hills, curves, and a few stop signs, averaging about 45 mph when moving. Altitude here is about 5,000 feet. My truck is a TRD Off Road, dual cab, 4x4, v6 auto. A/C off, Windows up, no tonneau cover.

ok here is what I want to know. should we have the ECT on or off? Also, does the traction control button have an impact on mileage?

Took a trip from corpus to Houston on the way to Houston 259 miles I got 15.4 speed between 75-80mph on the way back to corpus I got 18.7 mostly 80mph.running premium fuel, ECT on truck likes 5th gear very rare for it to go in to 6th with ECT on or off. I think this truck needs some reprogramming.

This was just on my way to work. I just wanted to see what kind of mileage I would get if I drove a bit easier (sticking to speed limits, no hard acceleration or hard stops). I wasn't holding up traffic by any means, but I wasn't passing people either. This 10 mile trip also has 8 stop signs, 3 traffic lights, and a traffic circle. For reference, my last tank average was 21.2. Hand calculation and computer matched perfectly. Current tank average is 21.5, mostly city.

I don't see it making a difference I have tried it both on and off the truck doesn't like to stay in 6th gear either way.

Hmmm... 10 miles isn't much of a sample though; drive that way for the whole tank and see you can get it to stay at that number... that would be sweet...

Yeah, that 10 mile trip was never meant to be a definitive number. I was just posting to show what changing my driving habits could possibly net me in fuel economy. I may take your advice and try to do that for a whole tank. It would be interesting to see the results.

Anyone tried 75+ and cruise?? Did a 700 mile round trip and averaged 14.8. Seemed to stay in 4th the whole time. DCSB sport 275/70 r17 on pro 4 inner wheels? Anyway to get the truck to at least try 5th and 6th?

Drive slower. Drag from wind increases exponentially, not linearly.

You did 700 miles at 75+mph with the tranny in 4th the whole time? 14.8mpg sounds about right. Can't say never getting into the higher gears does though.
