I'm getting 20mog best case scenario which is down from 24 that I was getting before.

I switched from SR5 to TRD OR 4x4 with bed cover.

Sort of disappointing since that 20 is me trying my best while the 24 was just being conscientious of mileage but not trying to max it. Driving for maximum efficiency got 25.

So far, first tank of gas at half a tank with mostly highway here in Texas, I'm at around 20 mpg in my v6 4x4. I figure after this fill up I'll start monitoring it a little closer but not take too much care in it until around 3-5000 miles.

Toyota definitely (and purposely I'm sure) underrated its 2.7l 4cyl.
My friend with a 4cyl RWD gets 25mpg, a few with the 4x4 here get 23.
They killed demand for their less profitable line by claiming worse MPG performance than the v6.
In marketing, it worked. Everyone's solidified behind the v6, showing 9/10th of the sales.

Pop-n-lock tailgate. New radio knobs. Rear step.
First tank average was 19.1 mpg. Second tank average was 20.5 mpg. Both were in mixed driving on incredibly flat land. I've also been babying it. I have no doubt it'll be worse once I decide I don't care and start flogging it a bit.

    first 3 fill ups got me 19.5, 17.5, 19.5 on 87 octane
    next 3 fill ups got me 20.5, 22.5, 22 on 92 octane.
in fact I haven't gotten less than 20mpg so far since
I switched to 92 octane. I was told by someone that
a higher octane wouldn't increase my gas millage.
it cost about 10% more for fuel and I seem to be getting
about 10% better gas millage so it doesn't seem to matter
which fuel I use. since cost per mpg is the same Ill just stick
with the 92. anyone else notice this?

Uh yea, there were reasons. The dealer only got an extra $3 out of me which is nice. I had a blown speaker already and some other cosmetic dings just from having bad luck so I call it win.

Mine's basically an office on wheels, I drive 50k+ miles a year. I have a computer desk bolted to the front inner passenger seat rail. Also has a Lund tri-fold tonno cover to carry catalogs and product samples. Eventually want to get a Leer or ARE camper top with side fold out windows.
20.6 Checked it yesterday after I filled the tank. This is mostly highway using the ECT/POWER mode full time AND driving it fairly aggressive in Dallas traffic. Oh, it's an SR 2.7L.

About 24mpg so far, on my 4th tank of gas. 4x4 v6 SR with the stock tires. I do drive like I'm 40 years older then I am, though...

miles are now at 1590 and have had it not quite 2 weeks. Wind has really picked up last 5 days and I am now averaging 21.4 from 23.6. Wind makes big difference.

3" lift, 285/65r18's- Just drove her from Dallas, TX to Savannah GA 1100 miles and my best mileage I got was 15.5 (16.4 corrected). I actually get better mileage city driving at 16.5 (17.4 corrected). On the trip I never drove over 70mph, the engine doesn't have enough torque to even use 6th gear unless it's going down hill... It is hill country most of the drive so the transmission constantly ran in 5th gear and on every hill it had to downshift to 4th just to maintain speed. I thought my Rokblokz might of been dropping the mpg' so I stopped and took them off... Nope not a bit of difference, this bitch needs a turbo.

Took a 6 hour round trip. TRD OR 4wd AT, start of trip, just over 1k on the truck. Averaged right around 19.5 mpg doing around 75 mph. Fluxuated between 18-20 mpg. Pretty much right on with Toyota's numbers. Around town 16-18. Hoping as the truck breaks in the around town will improve.

Drove around Hungry Valley SVRA with a mix of dirt roads, 4x4, and a lot of 4Lo and got 11 mpg from when we got off the pavement to when we got back on. Never turned off the truck for the 5 hours we were there

Total trip average was 18 mpg. Had a long uphill drive to get there for 50 miles and then 50 miles mostly down hill to get home

Getting about 19 MPG combined overall with about 800 Miles on the truck after 1 month. Just took a 300 mile Roundtrip to Bend from Klamath Falls, fairly flat, some gradual inclines and declines, avg. speed was about 57 MPH, outside temps below freezing both ways, and got 25 MPG. Will happily take that after averaging 17 HWY mpg with my old Tundra.
