See my signature below. This is average over 4500 miles or so. Its been a cold snowy winter with many morning's below zero. I have no doubt that come spring (if it ever comes) I will see at least another 1 mpg when I am not letting my truck idle for 20 minutes a day and driving my 20 mile commute in 4x4.

70% highway, 30% around town, around 19mpg 4x4 DC v6 TRD sport, only about 550 miles on it though. I would think it would get better as it breaks in. Live in the north east so cold starts in there too now.

I have found this, too. It's too shift happy into 4th going up hills. I can sometimes keep it in 6th by foot depending on the slow idiots in front of me

I would guess I'm 75% highway, 15% street, and 10% off road. The off roading is getting me around 8-12 mpgs...

Are the slow "idiots" in front of you doing the speed limit?

No, there is a stretch of uphill a few miles before my house where EVERYONE does 55 to 60 and the speed limit is 65. People don't realize it's a hill

Today was about 73 degrees and I got the best gas mileage on my commute home from work since taking ownership on Oct 30th. Colder weather seems to rob me of MPGs. image.jpg

We finally had some warmer weather here and when it was above 45, I was averaging 20-21.5. Once it went back below 45, I was back down to 18-19.

so far my best mixed driving is 23mpg. average is 20.5 I took off the air dam
my best freeway only is 31mpg at 60mph for 12 miles today (im on an island) no load.
coming back with 6 boxes about 300lbs. got me 27mpg. 87 octane gas. I used to use 92
but its not pinging and I don't race it. I use 92 sometimes. im still experimenting.
I have 4.3k miles on it, its starting to loosen up.

Had a 22 to 24mph tailwind on my way back from the barbershop this morning. (21 mile one way) Averaged 28.2 mpg with the cruise set on 60. Close to what the V6 Colorado I traded in got.

Seams like my mpg are getting worse. I'm getting like 14 or less now.

I'm getting 265 miles to a tank. I'm not sure what's going on. If it's the winter gas or something else. I have my tire pressure at 35. I find at certain throttle position my mpg just dives. Like around 15%. 2% to 10% at 35 mph seams to give me the best mpg along with 70 to 75 mph on highway. At 65 mpg my mpg is like 13.

My last tank average was 19.2 (hand calculated). I'm curious about the wide range in mpg on here. My last tank was mostly around town with some cold days, so I expected it to be less than it was. I have noticed that cold weather seems to make a BIG difference, but my averages have been pretty close since I got the truck. My overall average on Fuelly right now is 20.7.

My best was 18.4 over a 200 mile trip babying it. My current fuel mileage over the last 1200 miles is 14.6 mph--yes that's correct--I just reset it last night and drove slow and easy to work with gauge showing 16.3mpg. It's going to the dealership tomorrow to iron out several issues.

Apparently the cold weather effect is on auto transmission models. DCSB Sport MT with 21.1 overall for 6648 miles. Cold, cold Winter here, most mornings under 20º, still 1º here today. I get around 17mpg going up the passes and 30+ coming down, usually 18-19.7 in town (village, really).

    Nice pic.

MT will always get better then an auto. You can't compare the 2 really.

True enough, I was pointing out the temp difference seems to be minimal or non-existent with the MT. I was getting similar results in October at 40-55º
