The truck goes in Friday to see if anything else can be done 15500 miles been reprogrammed 2 Times head mechanic says it’s crap and cannot figure it out. We drove a sport, didn’t shift nearly as much and a pro who shifted but not as much, remember they have a 2” lift as well and push more air? WTH

I was also looking at F-150s as well. There are so many for sale and the prices are so cheap. Everyone says Toyota reliability, etc. But we don't even know if that's true for the 3rd gens anymore. I ended up with a 3rd gen mostly because I knew it was a common trail truck and the aftermarket is huge on them. I've seen Tacomas do everything I want to do, but I can't say the same for F-150s. It's a trade-off I guess. Still wish I had 25-28 mpg highway at 75mph like an F-150 gets.

Exactly, I don’t do much off road. Always loved my tacos as well as resale was great, but the 3rd gen isn’t that way. A lot of low mileage ones for sale, doesn’t show the high mileage keepers of the past! So, who knows. Maybe even a 2019 2.7 Chevy? Toyota should have gone with boost!

I just bought my first Tacoma. 2018 TRDORDC. Came from a 2005 F150. I had 155000 miles on that truck without a single problem. If it weren’t for the expense of buying a new one I would have bought a new F150. The F150 would have cost more then 10,000 more equally equipped. I sure hope this Tacoma is equally as reliable as the Ford product I’m coming from.

I don't think this is true, there are F150s on every dealership with anywhere from $7.5-$10k off of sticker price. I'm assuming you'd want a crew cab 4x4 with a 2.7 ecoboost. You could get that for the same ballpark as a 2018 TRDOR. Ford cuts their prices tremendously, which is why the resale also hurts.

Equally equipped means W/TSS and the tech package I would have had to buy a FX4 XLT. It still wouldn’t have all the options my truck has now. I paid 36000 for my Tacoma. It was stickered at 40,000. A Ford F-150 would be 46000 with all the rebates. Believe me I’m a ford guy and wanted a F150.

Had my 2018 TRD Sport Manual for a little over 2 months now. My drive is 95% highway driving between 105-115km/h (65-70MPH)

My first tank out of the dealer averaged 12.2L/100km (~19.2MPG)
Second tank I filled with 91 octane and averaged 11.4L/100km (~20.6MPG)
From then on I've been filling 89 octane and been consistently averaging 10-10.5L/100km (~22.4-23.5MPG)
