Pardon my stupidity here but what are the disadvantages of 285’s? Do they float more on wet roads? I wish there was a thread just on the tire size because I’m on the fence too.

I like that truck it’s sick. I’m not even a millennial. It’s your truck’s fault...

Mine slightly hit on front tires where wheel well plastic over meets and overlaps fender, but I got new wheels also which changes clearance. I am probably gonna lift it but it only hits when turning sharp and inclining like pulling into a driveway, so it’s really no big deal. Can live with it.

If you keep an eye on the real world 90% of trucks are running stockers and most of the others are something the local tire shop sold them. TW guys run cool stuff and it seems common but we are such a small sampling of Tacoma owners I wouldn’t feel bad if you run something that seems common on TW.

I also swapped out some hancooks (they were great for on road but not aggressive enough) for DC EXP's

Good choice, I've had KO2's and St Maxx, the Dick Cepek EXP is a better all around tire.

The 265 75 16 st maxx is a true 32” tire bigger then most 265 and a cmc would be a good idea I do have a slight rub when flex just right kinda thinking of doing this mod sometime
