@NinerMiner22 many forum members use and recommend the BFG as a solid option. I would have to agree.

    Thanks to @Discount Tire
The 285 Generals are gone, new 265/75 Duratracs are mounted. The ride is so much better than it was. I guess dropping app 12 pounds a tire makes a huge difference in handling and ride. And, the gas mileage on the dash was steadily climbing on the way home. Be interesting to see how much the mpg increases.
And, no more rubbing on the mudflaps.
I’ll be on 265’s from now on.
And once again, discount tire gets the balancing perfect. CB7060ED-4F0F-48B5-ADF4-B0D49CD2A827.jpg8CFFB89F-5196-4700-B6DB-2F96FAAF338F.jpgDA0A9068-7FB1-4946-A113-57A1F8ACB097.jpg

@LkdTaco thank you for your support! The ride looks fantastic! I'm stoked that all those good things are happening with the smaller tire. The look of the truck is still rugged as well.

Well, I was averaging around 15-16 normal daily driving with 285’s. I have been watching it, and now my normal average looks to be between 19.4 and 20, with the 265’s. Pretty good increase. When I got to the office this morning, after driving to work all week….

Also, @Discount Tire what is the best way to tell one of your stores they do a good job? Like can you make it known at a corporate level that a specific location is kicking ass? I drive an hour one way and refuse to go anywhere else because of how pleasant having tires done at the Wausau location is.

@Road_Warrior how did you decide on the shim amount? Looking to do the same, currently on a 2" lift from OME HD springs. I have the carrier bearing drop kit but looking to add a shim to help the vibrations.

To be honest I didn’t know there were any options besides 1/2” lol…it just so happened that it was the perfect height.

Ridge grapplers. Hands down a better tire than the wildpeaks they replaced and about the same price.

These look good! Any feedback on them? Pulling the trigger on some 265/75r16’s as well.
