Hey Gilbert. I don’t think you will be able to bend that even if you tried. I have been wheeling with the bumper since January and already had multiple impacts and there are no signs of damage anywhere

The hoops were added at the 4x shop by @traxman25 and his team . I already dragged the driver side and took a few hard hits on the passenger and they both did their job

This bumper is purely functional and that is why I went with 4x. Honestly I think is overbuild for how strong it is. Fixing a quarter panel will cost you more than what this bumper cost.

Dang, looks like that took a good beating for sure. Any flex of the bumper 'wings' upwards at all?

Thats my concern from what Ive seen on other HC bumpers, there isnt enough strength there to prevent the upwards flex, just due to the leverage on the forward point of the wing. Which causes fender damage over time

I had an unfortunate fender bender this past weekend, so now Im down the rabbit hole of plate bumpers vs full HC :D

Just got it on last week. Loving it. Great fit. Only issue was the trailer light wiring plug didn’t fit well which was prob due to the powdercoat building up. Didn’t want to scrape the fresh powdercoat off and expose the bumper to rusting so I had to sand down the plastic housing around the plug. Nice snug fit now. The powdercoat was not a color match bc that would have really brought the price up. This is close enough and is the shop’s brand but it is def close enough. Price for the coating was $414 out the door.

I placed a order today for this bumper, after seeing they were on sale.

    @traxman25

Can I get it without the 7pin cut out? My truck doesn't have the 7 pin. I sent a email through the website asking as well.

Looks really good. I have been eyeing this bumper for a long time long time but I’m hesitant because it appears like it doesn't stick out as far as the stock bumper. I like being able use my bumper as a step. Sounds kinda silly honestly.

Are the plate lights plug and play?

It doesn't stick out as far as a stock bumper, the hitch sticks out a little further than the bumper itself, you can use it as a step. The led license plate bolts are not plug and play. You have to cut the oem plugs off and wire them to the led pig tails. I've ordered a replacement set, the ones that come with the bumper are chrome, I ordered a set of black ones, they come with a little wiring harness, still have to splice one end of the harness, but you'll be able to unplug it if you ever need to remove the license plate.

You should really consider this bumper. I had been wanting one for a long time myself, finally pulled the trigger and I'm so glad I did. Also, if you don't have the 7 pin trailer plug, you can contact Adam and they'll weld that piece back in it.

So you have to splice it in but it has its own little harness that can be disconnected if needed?

I might do it if they have another sale. I think my next mod is to ditch the Spyder headlights and do the Ultimate headlight mod.

I need to stay off Tacoma world. My wallet’s ribs are showing

I hear that. Waiting on a bumper + sliders order from 4xInnov, placed during the black friday sale this year.

Sizable expense, but there's a lot of material, design work, and fabrication effort that goes into a quality product.

IMO the prices on 4xInnov stuff are much fairer than some competitors who I think are roughly in the same build class but seem to charge ~25-75% more depending on the exact item.

I justify the cost with, "it'll pay for itself 2x-5x the first time I'm ever unlucky enough to get rear-ended."

@GilbertOz yeah its a good deal even without a sale.

@easleycrawler 5 yr warranty, not bad. Is that the same setup 4x uses?

No. The set they supply is just a pig tail. No plug on it.

My opinion, 4xinnovations has the best prices on all their products. I've had their 1st gen yota tube doors and they are really nice as well. The quality can't be beat. I've got less than 1k in my bumper after powder coating. Most bumpers that are built like this one, will cost you more than that and most likely will still have to paint or powder coat it.

Rec'd my full 4xInnov order today via UPS.

Thanks Adam & 4xInnovations, initial impressions on this order are excellent. I'm expecting install will go smoothly on my 2014 Taco access cab.

    My order:
2nd gen rear bumper w/ single swing-out. (Regular, not high clearance bumper).
    2x single jerry can holders.
Pair of 2nd-gen bolt-on sliders, DOM, with 4xInnov's new bolt-on mounting design.

Amazed that it all arrived on a normal UPS box truck, not via semi truck freight on a pallet. I helped the unlucky UPS guy safely manhandle the 140-lb pair (taped/strapped together) of rock sliders out of the UPS truck & down to the ground. (Wet weather, slippery bumper on the UPS truck, the guy was wearing tennis shoes.)

Spent about 30 minutes going over pretty much every weld on every part. All looks very good quality. No pinholes in any welds, all welds clean and neat with good penetration, made apparent by consistent heat-affected zones around the welds, and where visible, on the back side of the welds.

Slider frame mounting plate alignment seems very good, checked both with a couple of quality spirit levels of different lengths (Stabila™.) By eye they appear to be straight to within approx. 1/16" to 3/32" over the full length of the flat portion of the plates. (The kickout section mounting plate is at a slightly different angle, by design.)

Sprayed down every square inch of all the parts with about 2 full cans of WD-40®, set them away in a dry corner of the unheated garage to wait for painting weather -- hot & dry, early summer.
