Dependent on wheel specs these are the largest tires you can stuff under a 2nd gen before requiring modifications
    265/70/17, 265/75/16 or 265/65/18,

Thanks!! So far so good but they have only seen street. Pretty quiet and good handling on the road though. Ok post a review after she goes off road

I’ve got total chaos, but I am definitely going to be replacing them with a billet aluminum upper control arm from icon. I am pretty disappointed in the powder coating and how it’s holding up with the total chaos ones.

First you’ll be nose high. 285s on the rear with no lift leaves no room for the suspension to compress.

Lift alone isn’t going to let you run 285’s

    of any height

Eh, yes and no. Mostly agree though. Depends on lift type

Rough Country 3.5” lift, with 18x9 Vison Rockers -12mm offset wrapped in 33x12.50R18 Red Dirt Road MT’s. No rubbing whatsoever even at full lock and articulation with the wheels stuffed in the wheel wells. No CV angle issues/cv boot slide mod along with CVJ Extended travel Axles. And still rides better than it did when it was stock.

In my experience, with a lift similar to the one he’s asking about, I needed more than just the lift. If I’m not mistaken, he is also considering upgrading UCA’s, so that helps, but 285’s are phat

Not disagreeing, im lifted about 2-2.5" on 37's and it took a lot of fucking work lol. With a typical toyota suspension lift it'll do nothing for you as far as tire clearance. Only time it relly helps is at ride height. If it rubs stock it'll rub with a typical suspension lift used on ifs toyotas. Now dropbrackets, body lifts, portals, etc... will help with clearance.
