I worked my butt off for over a year to lose enough weight and get in good enough shape to hike the Bright Angel Trail down from the south rim into the Grand Canyon. My wife and boys came along for the hike. This is day 2 of the hike, about 6:00 AM after we spent the night at Phantom Ranch, just south of the Colorado River, headed towards Indian Gardens and back up to the El Tovar.

My best photo isn’t the sharpest or most artistic, but it means the most—a blurry shot of my dog running on the beach at sunset. It was one of those perfect moments where everything felt right, and I barely caught it before he bolted into the waves. That pic now pops up on my https://www.nixplay.com/ digital picture frame, and every time I see it, I remember that exact day—the salty air, the laughter, the pure joy on his face. Funny how some photos just stick with you, not because they’re perfect, but because of the memories behind them.

It’s difficult to pick the best or favorite. The best photo will change depending on mood.

One of the luckiest was this double rainbow shot of Three Sisters.

Dark and rainy all day, we did not expect any evening light. The wife wanted to bail, but I convinced her to stay just a little longer. Ten minutes later the sun broke through.

Felt sorry for the guy that was shooting near us, his wife wanted to leave, so they did. He saw this on the way back to the truck.

One day I’ll learn how to do HDR and photoshop, but for now, it’s just caveman cut and paste exposure blends.

The Philippines was easily the most photogenic place I've ever been.

I have many stunning photos from that trip. And yet, the one that I remember more than any other...

It was when I found a lonely peacock mantis shrimp at the bottom of a murky 80 foot deep lagoon. Upon lining up to take my one photo of that dive he squared up and threatened to fistfight me. It's not my best photo. It's just my most memorable.

I took this in Savannah Georgia, I believe at the Saint Bonaventure Cemetery. The angel looks over the grave of a young girl. The original picture was black and white. I colorized the face and hands.

There's a slew of these wild Mustangs that live on the Salt River just north of Phoenix. They can be seen regularly hanging out crossing
the river and eating the 'river grass'. On the banks they will move up into the brush as about 30 of 'em did this day. Thinking I didn't want
to go horsin-around ( pun intended ) in the brush with these beasts I started to head out.

No sooner had I stepped away I hear a russlin-and-rasslin behind me as these 2 studs took to fighting.

I just turned the camera in that direction and held down the shutter firing off 100-200 shots of this action and caught a nice image.

Emerald Bay, Lake Tahoe. Not the best quality picture, but neat nonetheless.

    Good shot and nice processing.

The dark shadows make it look like a painting from centuries past.
