    Nice truck!

Yes, black requires a shitload of mainenance to look good in sunlight. I love black and most of my vehicles were black. I highly recommend ceramic coating, great product to protect your paint, make it easier to wash and have it shinier. Actually protects from swirls and light scratches.

Damn. Your paint looks great... my neighbor is a car guy. He has about 8 or 9 different vehicles. He recommended a good ceramic coat for black as well. He said it is like in the $500-600 price range . Seemed steep to me. But he has a black early 80s blazer, a black grand national, and a black formula firebird. They all look better than my truck, so maybe its worth it?

Thanks man! I spend quite a bit of time to make the paint look good, some people think im crazy haha. I go to the bush in the summer quite a bit, so it really helps with minor scratches.

I did the coating myself, cost me 80$ and took about 4-5 hours. I only screwed up a bit around the corners and badges, but nobody sees it but me. If you are experienced with waxing/polishing then you could do it yourself. You can only screw up by not polishing out some areas and they cure like that, making it look cloudy. That can only be removed with polishing compound. Thats the only hard part with ceramic coating, you really have to pay attention and have dry, bright and clean area to do it.

Its the best to do while the paint is still in good shape, so you dont have to do a lot of paint correction. The best thing is, it lasts for years. You just have to apply ceramic coating booster every few months, which is like applying wax, and thats it. Amazing stuff man, i highly recommend. Its better protection than waxes or sealers.

I like them. Better than factory ride for sure. I kept hitting my bumps stops on gravel roads with the factory Bilstein. Now it’s much smoother. I have to say it was a bit stiff in the front with the factory upper control arms. Since I’ve switched to the icon it rides much nicer in the front.

Looks great! I currently have sealer on mine that I just put on a couple of months ago so the sealer will be on for a while. I will need to switch to ceramic at some point. Wish I new about ceramic before putting sealant on it.

    Thanks!

Its great stuff man. My trucks paint looks better than the trucks that never leave the pavement haha.

I wish i knew about ceramic when i bought the truck. I did it after 1 year of ownership, so had to spend a bit more time prepping the paint. Ceramic coating adds shine, so it will show imperfections even more.

How's the fitment of the rims? My truck is lifted 2" with stock control arms and I'm wondering if they would rub.

Hey I’m looking for a left rear bumper L piece painted Midnight Black. If anyone has one let me know.

Unfortunately I don’t have 50 posts yet or I would post a wanted ad in the classifieds.

I decided early on that I wasn't going to worry too much about keeping the paint looking pristine. I wear my pinstripes with pride!

Anyway here's some pics of my taco in the mountains over the holiday weekend:

I think I'm with you. I'm not going to any great length to maintain paint. It's my dd and I've got other things to worry about. I'll clean up once every few months and apply a coat of wax once a year. I'm not big on paint maintenance, but when it's new it looks so nice.
