What he said and if you really want to make it shine use a buffer, i use the meguiars one on the end of my drill. I do the 3 step system 2-3 times a year, compound, polish, wax. My cars is black and legit looks like a mirror after.

Thanks for the reply's TW. I hope when mine arrives it is as shiny and deep as I've seen before. Maybe the robot paint machines that do the work have been fixed by the time I get mine. Something was not right and if mine comes that way I will reject the truck which I don't want to do. Seems like there's not enough clear coat.

 

According to the paint shop I buy my paints from, the truck does have a base coat/clear coat application. The only places where single stage paint is used are the area's where it is plastic (fender flares, front bumper area below the lights and grill.) The rest of the truck is base/clear coat.

 

Not calling you a liar, but that picture shows a chrome bumper (no tech) and what appears to be no sunroof.

 

Hmm, maybe Im wrong then. What does the tech package get you?

 

Moonroof, heated seats, Bsm

 

Auto on/off headlights, sunroof, painted rear bumper on OR, blind spot monitoring, rear parking sensors, heated seats, auto/dual zone climate control.

wow, typing that out makes it seem worth it. I passed on the tech package mainly because of headroom issues.

 

At 6'0 I had to test drive one with the tech package and while it's a snug fit, it works for me. Can't imagine how those taller than me would fit just fine.

 

Mine is great, I use Meguiar's G6207 Black Wax Paste - 7 oz. Black 1, its good for black or dark colored vehicles..

 

Never heard of that process....Something new?

 

Our paint shop at the Manufacturing plant of Class 6,7,8 trucks that I have worked at for 37 years paint clear over a wet base, never heard of "mixing" clear into base on any color.

 

I had to have some body work done on my Tacoma a couple of years ago after a tree fell on it, and I'm pretty sure that the body shop put a clear coat on after the color coat. I can't imagine they'd do a finish that was different from what the factory did.

 

I'm a bodyman for 30 years and have never heard of that either..
