Technically there is a clear in all paints but not clear coat. It is a resin that is clear but known as a binder. The binder holds the pigments (color) in place.

Thanks!! I was going to go with black but I figured the gray would give it a nice color contrast

Thank you! I left the grill on, and only removed the toyota emblem. Just masked off the inside and surrounding body panels. Ended up doing 7 coats of black and 3 coats of glossifier

You left some of the black part of the grille exposed, did you paint over that.? Isnt it easier to leave just the chrome exposed.? Did you get any over spray on any part of the truck at all, that's what I would be afraid of..

Yes, I painted over the black paint that was exposed. The plastidip peels right off for a nice clean line. I didn't get any overspray on any other part of the truck. Plastidip is very easy to work with.

Thanks! I did 7 coats of black and 3 coats of glossifier. The 3rd pic (side view) really shows the "true" color of the grill in real life. It still has a matte finish with the slightest hint of gloss

Tacoman408, I see you have a bakflip mx4 installed. I'm having trouble installing mine. Couple of questions if you don't mind?

Do you have a 5ft bed or a 6ft bed?
How long are your mx4 bed rails?
How long was the slot for the 's clamps'
    Did you install yourself?

The reason I ask is because I think my mx4 bed rails are too short (I have a 6ft bed), my mx4 rails are 69inches long, the weather seal extends an extra inch. The slot for the s-clamps on the rails is only 60inches long (factory cut), which means I cant use 5 clamps, because the existing holes (1st and 5th) for the side rail are more than 60 inches apart.

Any help would be much appreciated.
