Is it me or does every country song try and tell me how much country they are? I would like to see a return to what countys songs used to be, and dont try and be like Hank Jr. just because he's Junior. Willie never had to be country because he knew some one. And I don't care to hear a country dude sing about his facebook, or the internet. If a country singer can hook a PTO to a log splitter or run a tractor then fine. BUt I think most of these country singers would be in the dark if they had to plow a field, or shoe a horse.

That's actually really true. You see country singers releasing more and more "That's What Country Is" or "This is Country Music" or such songs. It does get annoying. Especially bands like Rascal Flatts, that suck, can't sing and quite frankly creep me out, they should not be country because THEY ARENT! Too much bullshit in this genre. Jason Aldean's a beast tho haha

I'm not even a county fan, but I grew upon it. I guess because I am almost 40 now, country music is too much like pop music....and I hate pop music. Hell the one vid shows the guy with two ear rings, big hoops like my mom used to wear. Is he a pirate? And it really to "ME" all sounds the same

    neglect, mostly.
rep for you sir. though i grew up listening to waylon, and im still a huge fan, i got to say that merle is the greatest singer songwriter of all time. i am the biggest merle haggard fan on the planet. . . and Jamey Johnson is really the last remaining true country singer. my favorite band, if you don't want to call them country, fine by me cause they really arent is the Zac Brown Band. go to one of their live shows and you'll be a fan for life i swear. ive probably been to 30 something different artists' county shows and ZBB puts on the best ever, i promise. buy their "Pass the Jar" album and you'll see what i mean.

and im not really a fan of country music videos, they just don't do much for me, but i will post this cause i was at this show. life changing. i went just so i could say that i have seen merle haggard. i figured he would be washed up and sound like a bull frog, but i was wrong! he hasn't lost a bit of talent. (i was probably 10 ft behind the guy shooting this vid, it was amazing)

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dLn85m0_358

and if you have an hour and a half to kill, here's a pbs film they made about merle, it's actually really really good.

unbeatable in my opinion. and im serious, if you ever get time to kill, check out that pbs documentary about his life. it's just really cool to watch. but that show i went to was awesome. he played all his hits (well a lot of them, too many for one show) - silver wings, mama tried (my favorite song of all time), okie from muskogee, fighing side of me, just stay here and drink, big city, branded man, the fugitive, and probably 15 others. best show ive ever been to.
