I live about 5 miles from where those babies are made. Or where their namesake is anyways. Good boats.

It's been crazy lately. Starting to slow down already though. I've been hitting the creeks lately. The lack of rain and the warmer temps is slowing the bite down. If we could get 3 or 4 days of good rain, they should pick back up some.

Turkey's are full gobble...I was calling them with a box call and a jake popped up 35yds away and my wife shot her first tom...she didnt want to wait on a big one. So for her its a trophy shes got pics on her phone...it was small but tasty.

Yesterday myself and neighbor went to check my bear bait and nothing hit it yet but we heard gobbles. So I tried calling and had one tom responding, and we spot him come out of the woods 530yds (we had a range finder) away and he kept gobbling...he started to head up the road so we kept watching him and hitting the box call and sure enough he was coming up the road strutting, gobbling, puffed out, then running...he got within 15yds and we couldnt help but laugh. We didnt have shotguns so we let him go...we didnt have a camera or it would have been hilarious...So he got a pass[IMG] It was a good encounter.

Opening day today. Connected at 6:45am from 18 yds away. My buddy got it all on video, too! Young bird...10" beard, 1" spurs, but fat & healthy at 24 lbs. Can't shoot my other one 'til next week!

Thanks! Smallish beard, smallish spurs. I can assume it was a 2 yr old bird. Boiling some of the breast today for pulled turkey enchiladas.

Hit the water yesterday. Biggest bass of the day:
