Our deadline is may 15 we don't find out till June 20.
They make us late hard to plan hunts in other states cause you only want 1 or 2 a year.
Heck for our earlier hunts you have to start planning before you even know if u get a tag.
Oregon mostly manages for money I don't think the state gives a cap about the animals.

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. Has the potential of being one of the hardest hunts you'll go on.

I had bears on bait then poof they were gone...I dont know if its because of spring mating season or availability of food or someone ran hounds on my bait and scared them off...usually they return if the latter is the case though. I dont know whats going on or where the bears went.

Yeah there's a chance, might have to try a different spot. I dunno, what are you using for bait?

Problem is access..its either too far out or too close to someones house...Right now the best place someone else has had a bait location for 20 something years so its easy for them...Im trying to get a bait location set up across the hillside about 2miles as the crow flies but I think hound hunters are patrolling the area and running the bears around also...Idk...all I can hope for is fall hunt

Have one of the hound guys help you out, most of them would be willing to atleast help, help train their dogs. I dunno if you'd be willing or if it's legal. Try to change up your bait maybe.

yeah normally bread and scraps works...it was working for a few days then nothing...I dont see anything in the rule book about being illegal to drop hounds on bear bait...but its not "sporting"...I have till June 15th so Im still holding out hope.
