    Just bought a bow a year or so ago. not proficient with it yet, but I need to get on that. Going to Neb in September for a wedding and may try and sneak out if I feel confident in it at that point.

    First day deer hunting. I was done at 1:30. 1996. Hooked for life.

    Depends on the wind.

    Sometimes when you have the dogs on the rig rack they'll rig one minute and the wind changes and then they quit.

    I talked to a guy out here where he claimed his dogs could scent one 500+yds away? is that correct or was he just blowing smoke?

    if thats the case then bears can smell a human double that distance...;) The friends that were on my baits ended up getting 1 bear one night and another the next night. So overall the season was good. I ran out of time but I'll be on bait this fall season. Starts Aug 30 for us.

    Let me clarify. A bet a good rig dog could smell a red hot bear standing upwind from it at 500 yards on a warm day.

    I dont know much about them other than theres a few people that use them to hunt bears around here. The guy I talked to was bagging on this other guy that uses them around here. Basically said he over hunts the area...I dont know if I believe that or not since there are bears on camera during baiting seasons. If it was over hunted there wouldnt be any bears in my thinking.

    Not too bad for a Texas yard deer. Bout as big as they get around here. Something to look at and get my hopes up for my November trip.
