2nd deer this year, back-to-back Sunday mornings. Both around 8:20 in Ohio. This guy was fighting/sparing with another buck in the woods and called them both over to me. Luckily, this guy ran underneath me and stopped. Then the other buck came over to investigate... Turned out to be a 10-12 point mammoth. It's too bad we can only tag 1 buck!

Went out Thursday with a thick fog (NE Colorado) and set up in a little flooded field. A couple set up in pond right next to me and kept shooting the mallards I called in passing over their spot coming in towards my spread. Let's just say I was PISSED. Still able to get 1 that flew straight in.

Man that is the worst! I hate it when that happens. On a Thursday too. I fixed that problem for myself by getting the most awesome decoys ever. I don't even need to call. They always come straight to my spread.

What decoys do you use? I have a couple old baby mojos that usually do the trick.

Thanks for the link. Those look super nice. Gonna have to add this to my list of shit I really want but don't really need. Maybe a nice early present to myself before the second season.

I have a few of those mixed into my spread and man! It looks so real it's unbelievable. All I do is give a few light quacks and a little feeding chatter and they cup right in.

I mean usually you get one or two swings before they will commit. I've had them commit from way up high all the way in.

I usually hunt the river. Think it would be over kill to have 2 spinners along with a pair of those? I had issues that day of getting groups of 4-5 to commit. Had a few groups circle maybe 5 or so times and leave. Not sure if decoy shy or just didn't like my spread.
