We used to marinate them in Italian dressing, then wrap in bacon and secure with a toothpick, then cook on the grill. Charcoal is the best but gas works too, very tasty

Well season is pretty much screwed due to the Oregon wildfires - most of the timber company lands, state and national forests were closed indefinitely around Labor Day due to fire danger.

Post pics so I can live vicariously :bananadead:

I'm partial to wild pheasant myself. I love shooting dove, just not a huge fan of the meat, unfortunately. And I dont need to hear "You just havent had them cooked right."

Hell yeah man, eat! Congrats on a beautiful bull! Did you save the tongue? I keep hearing it’s tasty lol.

And no refund but they did start opening some of the closed state forests last weekend. I posted this in the archery thread but gave mule deer and Rockies a go the last few days, more towards the eastern side of Oregon - new type of country for me:

Deciding if I want to hit the desert again or jungle for my last 4 days of season.

I did. Kept the heart liver and oysters as well. Never had any of it before. Trying to use as much of it as I can.

Good luck. That looks like tough country to archery hunt in.

Thanks! 3 minutes the first side 4 on the second. Comes out perfect every time. This is the best meat I have ever had. Can't believe I waited this long to hunt elk!
