boatswain, they are walleyes, that's just the nickname they've been given from the locals. The fish were coming out of Lake Winnipeg and have a iridescent green color, I was fishing at Selkirk on the Red River in Manitoba, the river was chock full of 5-10 lb fish, one of the guys in our group even got an 11lber. Some of the most ridiculous fishing I've ever encountered.

And ya that shows pretty awesome, I only catch it every once in a while. Its a good rainy day show when i want to bore my girlfriend lol.

3 pointer from a few days ago. I've actually never seen anything like it. First shot was broadside and he fell right over. About 10 seconds later he's getting up, shaky, but getting up. Then starts to run!! Second shot on the run put him down again.

When I opened him up, I found the first shot went through the left shoulder, split the heart in half and stopped in the hide. So he was able to get up after approximately 10 seconds and start running.... The second shot was direct to the liver.

I hate that I had to shoot him again because it messed him up pretty bad, but there's no way of knowing that he would fall over with no heart left and not just keep going and I never see him again.

WOW! awsome! the river we fish has a good population of walleyes, but most are smaller fish. there are brutes there, but not overly abundant. few years ago had one 29 1/4"- 7#14oz., and we just got the one mentioned in prior post. lake erie, and ontario have excellent walleye fishing, should make more trips up there.

Walleye are a ton of fun. They did some rehab work on the dam here this past year and were emptying the lake and a TON of bass and walleye got into the river. Last February a couple friends and me caught over 100 walleye in 2 days on the water. I caught the biggest that I have heard of anyone catching (in the river, not the lake) and it was right at 6 lb. Figured out there were walleye there because I went to do some trout fishing and ended up catching a walleye on about every other cast...on an ultralite. Caught the 6 pounder on the ultralite too. That was fun.

Went fishin today. Caught about 17 trout in 2 hours. Not too bad. Nothin big, but fun anyway. The browns are all FULLLLLL of eggs, so I threw them all back but one. Kept a couple small rainbows. Makes for a good dinner.

    I filled it with awesomeness
Took this Kansas 9 pointer today (11-12-11). Fourth buck I've taken, but this was my first season archery hunting. It has been very challenging but it was all worth it in the end!! Can't wait until next year!!!!
