Went on a float trip today. Didn't catch a lot, but 5 of them were decent sized. Don't have a pic of the 5th because she decided to fight back and put a hook under my fingernail. Dropped her before I could take the pic.

very very nice!! i hope the elk heard here will grow big soon so they can open a season on them. past few years they have only given out 5 tags and last year started 5 tags and 1 youth tag. you have 3 set days to hunt and only on 1 WMA.

I also wish they could get some more, but the ones they have got came from elk island in canada, and i think make some from land between the lakes in KY. but they can’t get them from out of state any more because of posable diseases.

Nice! Its definitely awesome. Just a completely different level of work to pack out than deer though haha.

Was that RMEF that led that area? I seem to remember they've done some work out east recently with reintroducing elk.

Second time in a week I've gotten to give this guy a pat on the head. Almost fed him through the mower this time though.

Decent, not a good year for elk, but lots of deer. Got one more spot to go look for moose paddles once the forest service roads open the 15th. Here's most of this springs finds, missing a few though.

Do you use a dog? Or pattern the buck and just follow his routes? I rarely find sheds in Pa, the squirrels mice and porcupines take care of them pretty quick.

I would absolutely love a dog, mine has literally stepped over a few and walked right by the rest. I'm usually in elk wintering areas, and get lucky picking up deer sheds, the rest are from the fishing access areas. I'm originally from VT which I can imagine would be like shedhunting in PA, and I wouldn't even know where to start. Thankfully rodents don't get to them too bad around here.

Momma was watching me chasing him around trying to get him out the of the field I was mowing haha. His hiding spot was a the next row in line to get mowed. Its a good thing he popped out into the open or I wouldn't have seen him.
