I always reset my odometer at every fill up to double check my mileage with that computer readout.

It takes me 18gal to fill up once the gas light comes on... 99% of the time i wait till the gas light comes on to fill up... I get 380-420 miles per 18 gal.

This last time the gas light came on at 407 miles but the computer said my tank average was 20.8.

Not exactly right... But... Close enough for me.

Light on in the second gen trucks occurs at 17 gallons down (+/- 0.5). I wonder if anything changed with the gauge or tank in the 3rd gens?
Your average of 400 miles per 18 gallons is 22.2 mpg, which is great for a double cab... but are you a 4WD or automatic?

3.5L 2WD automatic. DCSB. No lift. 265/65/17 bfg rugged terrain with XD rockstar 2 wheels.

Driving habits...I live in the woods, only 1 red light in my town. Mostly drive at 55-60mph. On pavement I don't baby it but don't drive like a maniac either.

I live off road. 1.5miles from pavement. I hit the sandpits in my 2wd truck a couple times a week. Sandpits about a mile from my house. Off road i do drive a bit rough. Completely turn off traction control. Hit the ect power button and floor it.... Slipping and sliding on them back dirt roads LOL. I have been stuck a couple times but most the time i do fine.

Wish i had the 4wd and a lift.. Id be happg with 15-17mpg to get that extra badassness. :D

Completely happy with the fuel economy on my truck though.

I think i read somewhere that the tank is 21gal on the 3rd gen. ??. I might be mistaken though.. But every time i fillup it takes about 18 gallons with the gas light on.

There are 3-4 gallons remaining when you are on the Empty line or when light comes on.

cool, that's what I got with normal driving on my
the computer surprisingly keeps accurate mpg. I always do paper/manuel comparisons (old habit) and my calculations are same as the computer's calculations. Eventually I may quit and just trust the computer, but I guess I keep subconsciously hoping a can "catch it in a mistake". ha!

Are you in a manual? It can't be too bad if it's staying in 6th gear, based on that rpm

Yes, it's in manual and in 5th gear. 6th will drop my MPG to 18.8-18.9MPG.
P.S the drop in speed is because my radar detector went off during the picture.20160706_154510.jpg

Got a little over 3,700 miles on it now, been getting advertised Mpg since the week I brought it home.
Pic below is 4 days back and forth to work which is a combination of City/Hwy, pic taken with cruise set at 72.

I'm consistently around 21-23 per tank myself, I update the eco graph once a week now that I know that was something that it didn't do automatically.

I have never used the graph, I just figure it up the old school way and compare it to what the truck says that I am getting and it has been very close with a plus or minus of .1 or .2 at every fill-up, which is close enough to tell me that the truck is getting what Toyota says it is capable of getting.

Normal driving around city only in AZ on flat roads. Speed limit 45mph on most major arterials. Trying not to use heavy foot.
