Wasn't overly impressed when I got the truck as far as fuel economy goes but now that I'm getting some miles on it, it's really starting to pick up. No wind, half was 65mph on county roads the other half was 70mph on the highway (pretty typical driving for me). V6 4x4 sport, air dam removed (otherwise stock):

Lol ya these numbers are good. I converted it to mpg (US)

Almost everyone seems to post what the instantaneous reading is on the dash, but never post the full tank consumption average.

I can roll down hill and post a pic of a great mpg however, the full use of the tank gives the real picture of how good / bad it really is.

I commute about 24 miles each way. Mixed surface streets and moderate to heavy stop and go freeway in Phoenix. I have averaged between 22 and 24 MPGS. Light traffic I have hit 30 MPGS in the morning without AC. Have lifted 4x4 DCSB sport.

Most people don't know how to drive economically. I'm sorry, some will take it the wrong way, but most of you don't.

If I can get just as good mpgs in my 02 5.3l silverado then the problem is you. Not the tacoma.

No mention of driving habits, location, or lift, wheels, tires...

How do you like it over there on the Colorado forums?

TRD OR DCSB M/T 4x4 1,800 miles averaging around 21.5 mpg using 89 octane traveling about 15 miles on a road with rolling hills in the country averaging around 50-55 mph and then 5 miles in the city, so a 20 mile commute. The first 1,000 or so miles I ran 87 octane and averaged around 19.5 mpg.
