I get 26 to 28 on completely flat roads at 60 to 70mph. But on my routes, traffic patterns and completely flat don't last very long

We are going off roading tomorrow so I'll check the trip average for that

Thanks for listing that. Some of us old farts can't find things as quick as we'd like to. The one missing in the list is the current popular TRDOR size of P265/75R16. I believe it's about 4% larger in diameter than the 245's that are standard on the SR5. I seem to recall that's the size on the one in the showroom I looked at. If you have a MT, you get the benefit of the 4.3 gears, but the auto gets the same 3.9 gears. I have the auto SR5, and I'm pleased with the mileage I'm getting. Average on my current tank is 19.7 and I drive 7 miles up a pretty good hill to where we live. This tank does have a recent 30 mile trip up the interstate which indicated trip mileage was 23.8. However, I want to change to a 265 size and the /70R16 would not add to the already too high gear ratio in 6th gear.

Last tank was 17.8 MPG (calculated) and avg on the trip computer showed 17.4.

This tank I have been babying the shit out of it and trip computer is showing 19.2

    No prob.

Huh...I haven't heard about the P265/75R16 option for stock TRD OR's. It wasn't listed in the 3rd gen specs product I downloaded, and I don't see it listed as an OEM tire size on Tirerack: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Selec...coma+4wd&autoYear=2016&autoModClar=Double+Cab

Is the 265/75R16 from a weird regional "woo hoo texus" package or something? (no offense to Texans)

Which fuel grade do you guys use?? Owners manual says to use fuel with an octane rating of 87 or higher. So I use the middle grade rated at 88. Does anyone just use the regular gasoline (usually rated at 86) and not the plus or premium grade?

I just made a 500km round trip and I averaged 26.5 MPG (cdn)... that's like 21.2 US MPG...

    I'm happy...

Did 25 miles in Hungry Valley today. Got 10.1 mpg with mostly 4hi in first and second gear. A few minutes of 4lo but not much. Engine ran for 4.5 hours

Out here, regular is 87. I use that. I wonder if the brand of gas has something to do with MPG's as well?

I stand corrected. Specs do call out the 265/70. I was looking at one in the showroom and it had 265/75s on it, but obviously not factory tires. I'll go with the standard size 265/70s.

    That would be 0.55 gph.
My truck uses almost that much idling (with a/c).

Really?? I wonder why. Regular gas is at $1.98 per gallon right now!! So cheap. Mid grade s around $2.30 per gallon. I'd like to use regular since it's so cheap. 30 cents difference might not be much but over years it adds up! I've always asked that too if brands matter or not?

I restarted the truck when we drove in after we used the bathroom. I did not turn off the engine during the 4.5 hours in the park. On our way out, trip distance said 24.8 miles and my trip miles per gallon were at 10.1.

The trip lasted for 4.5 hours.

    Are you saying it's incorrect?

You know what, there was a guy in this thread or another MPG one that said his got better using Shell. You are lucky you're paying $1.98. Here we are almost at 3 bucks again.
