I'm kind of a dummy. What's super boost spacing?

I had the Azonics that I was going to sell you. haha

Looking back on it now after running a few other pedals, those azonics in theory were cool but really didn't work well as a flat or clipless in comparison.

I'd suggest the SHIMANO SAINT or xtrs or the Crank bros mallets

scope PB classified for some lightly used

    also...

YT industries sells the Mallets pretty cheap if you wanna go new.

yea I actually went back to our PMs to check your post on PB to see if they had sold... lol

yea, I'll keep an eye out for used ones to save some cash, but I may end up just buying something new if nothing pops up soon.

From what I understand, Some bike manufacturers use 157mm rear axle widths. So they also make the bottom bracket slightly wider as well to match the chain line. This makes the shaft of the crankset a little longer.

maybe someone else can chime in and correct me if I am wrong.

    not enough.
Just another standard. most mountain bikes are on "boost" spacing. 12x148. road bikes are generally standard. 12x142. super boost is 12x157. it's very common on downhill bikes for their supposed stiffness but it's finding it's way into enduro and trail bikes. Granted, super boost existed before boost and there's a weird history there.

in short, super boost supposedly makes the chain line better and results in less wear. but it's all debatable.

How do you all transport multiple bikes? I am looking at a Hollywood Racks TRS Hitch 2bike or Hollywood Racks Destination 4bike. Thanks in advance for input.

Not to get on the 1up fanboy train, but I've got a two bike 1up rack and a tailgate pad. I prefer the 1up rack.

Also good to note, I've got a softopper so the tailgate pad isn't as "easy" for most trucks to use.

+1 on the 1up rack. i have a pad as well. Pad is used for large shuttle days. 1up for transport for 1 or 2 bikes. I have the addons to make it a 4 bike but things get a bit...bouncy with 4 bikes on that rack.

I get paranoid with 2 bikes. Can't imagine 4 bikes. Not that I don't trust it, I'm just paranoid as shit fearing the bikes will fall and cause an accident.

If you owned or even saw a 1up rack in person, you would not be concerned even with 4 bikes. They are easily the best bike racks available. Machined aluminum, super beefy. no tiny moving parts, almost no plastic.

I also use a 1Up. It’s awesome. Easy to load and unload. And holds the bikes solid in there.

No doubt. I have one, it's only the quick rack, but it does exactly what I need it for. It's great, I would recommend it to anyone.

I'm just overly paranoid. Even when I have one bike and it's my light gravel bike, i catch my self still glancing in the rear view.

1up racks are pricey, but compared to similar thule or kuat racks, the price is on par. May as well get the better (IMO) bike rack.

If you want to feel better about the price of a 1up, check out the founders new company - quikr stuff.

also, you must really hate your bikes to buy a Hollywood rack.

Those quikracks are nice but damn they are pricey. But I do like that you can run a single and expand it out to a quad. I run a double 1Up even tho I mostly take one bike

Tail gate pad for the win or even cheaper option use a folded over moving blanket/towel and a strap.
I've got an older Yakima hitch rack (stickem up?) that I use on the motorhome does the trick but I still strap the bikes down with synch straps to be safe on long trips
Hollywood racks are pretty cheaply made from my experience. There is a reason they are so much cheaper than the competition.

The one ups seem super nice. The kuat racks are nice too.

The quikr racks are pretty nice. I haven't had hands on experience, but it does look like they addressed some of the "opportunities" of the 1up racks. The term "opportunities" is used very loosely. By no means am i chompin at the bit to sell the 1up for a quikr

95% of the time the bikes will be in the bed of the truck, but I am looking for a hitch mount for some summer vacations I take this year where the bed will be full. It would be great if I didn't have to spend 1/2 the price of a new bike on a hitch I use twice a year.

For what ever its worth....My buddy I ride with had a new Hollywood Rack and I'd trust my old clapped out yakima to hold my bikes over that thing.
