So if invoice is, say $35k on a 2016 Tacoma. How much does the dealer buy the truck for? Or is that a tightly-guarded secret. I know this is not a direct comparisan, but I know a few mountain bike shop owners. Typically the MSRP is 30-40% higher than what the bike shop gets the bke for. So a $2,000 mountain bike might only cost the dealer $1200 to $1400.

Because you were looking at the Out the Door price and probably don't even know what kind of vehicle I am getting with what kind of options. My taxes and doc fees are significantly higher than yours. Not sure what your deal is and I don't feel like digging around for it.

Check out my post here where it details the cost difference of MSRP and invoice. Which if you include the doc fees as you state, I am still 6.5% below MSRP.

Is anyone here paying under invoice? That would be astronomical if you are.

a few years ago it was 7.6% on a truck i helped a tw member buy... however even that number has a bunch of items in it that the dealer gets back from the factory - so you can sometimes get it back of their 'total invoice cost'

Yeah I see it now $2000+ Discount. The $32998 plus $699 Doc fee is the actual price paid an that is STILL a good discount for this truck.

There is a small dealer in SC quoting slightly below invoice...but until one sees a buyer's order, it's pie in the sky. Of course they also have a whopping $500 "Doc Fee" which effectively wipes out "below invoice" pricing. The Doc fee is an important addition to MSRP for the buyer and the seller. It is PURE GROSS

Has anyone ordered a Limited yet? I only saw one quote for a Limited in this thread and it sounded high ($40k+).

NoDak's thread says MSRP is $37820 so "invoice" should be ~$35000 from what I've been reading. Add the tonnaeu cover, towing pkg and mats and I'm thinking $36500 plus $900 for destination and then TTL. Anyone gotten close to this with an actual stealership?

That is very similar to my loaded DCLB OR both in terms of MSRP and "invoice".

I can't believe you are getting raped at 699 doc fees. The doc fee MAXIMUM in California is 80 dollars

Its all relative. Californians are complaining they are not getting decent discounts, If a DOC FEE still leaves the truck well below MSRP it's meaning less really.

I ordered my DCSB Sport in Quicksand. A lot on here will say it only looks good on the OR with black over fenders, but I like it on the Sport. Granted, we still haven't seen a DC Sport in Quicksand.

If they buy it at 35k that is invoice add about 7% to that to get msrp. The cars Toyota builds are already sold to a fleet than the fleet sells them to the dealers , Toyota, fleet, and dealers make money

I've seen the TDA added on to two quotes on top of the invoice price. I'm curious why I only see this on some quotes at invoice? An extra $600-$750 would be nice to know if i have to account for.

from what someone else has posted, invoice has been around 92.6 or 92.7% of msrp.
