Has anyone found a dealership in the southeast that will go below MSRP? I've spoken with three dealerships in Alabama now.. one is firm at MSRP and two are asking over MSRP.

Just got my Tacoma today. 2016 TRD Off Road 4x4 double cab with tow and carpets for $32,880 plus $750 in fees! This was the DC metro area. $32,880 is almost invoice.

Calling 3 dealers won't help you find a deal. My initial contacts were made with 49 dealerships. It took me 3 months to get what i got... And it still isn't built yet.
    Holy turdz. Y so cheep?

    7568+HH+Tow for $35,400
    or
    7568+FP+Tow for $35,700

Both are fair prices. Both below MSRP and above Invoice. Dealer and buyer both win.

If I could get a deal like that on a Magnetic Grey w/ grey interior I'll sign this weekend regardless if its on the lot, allocation or needs to be ordered.

Its hard to buy the Supply / Demand ($5k markup) excuse when there are over 60 tacomas spread around different lots within 30 miles of where I live (prius town).

I forgot to say that we found our truck because my wife randomly called a dealer who wasn't in my 50 miles search radius. They were about 105 miles away

Msrp for floor mats and tow package is around 35500 for the short bed OR 4x4. That includes the 900 destination, right?

Whether it's a deal or not is based on the region and if they have the on the lot for you to drive away in

go get the true car deal at 34700. Why are you still looking at this one if the true car is cheaper?

but if you got a TrueCar, doesn't that mean they have the vehicle for sale? You are saying your dealer is going to order it at 34600, right?

Long time visitor, first time poster. My wife and I are looking for a new 7568 with towing and premium package minus JBL. Used the USAA car buying service (TrueCar) and found one for $35,858 before fees. Called the dealership and four phone conversations later they said they could do $38,030 final price all in. That price excludes $1,350 tax because he said we should do tax exempt out of florida since we're military. Too risky so we're waiting for the prices to go down. We'd like to pick one up for $38k including tax. Going to be awhile but we're willing to wait. Anyway just wanted to toss this one into the pile.

Those numbers don't make any sense. Why are they selling it to you for 35858 and then paying 38030 when the tax is only 1350? They are raping you with some sort of added dealer equipment or 1500 document fees... I don't see that in your favor

Agreed. It was just over the phone with the sales manager so I didn't see a breakdown of the price and he didn't really explain. Originally, he said just over $40k and I just laughed. He told me the truck he could get had what we wanted but that it also came with all-weather mats and a clear coat protection package or something (he said added an extra $1,000 on top of what we wanted). I told him we were trying to stay between $37k and $38k. He said there were only nine 7568's allocated to the entire southeast region and his price was the best he could do. We would like to see $32,500 for the truck, plus $3,000 in options for the HH and towing, with $2,000 in TTL for a total of $37,500 if possible. Hoping to avoid the $900 destination charge when they're on the lot at some point. Again, we're not in a rush so we hope it will happen sometime in the future. Just got excited when I saw the TrueCar price. This thread has been really helpful.

It doesn't come with the paint protection from Toyota. Somebody 'installs' it at the distributor or at the dealership. There probably is no paint protection, anyway. The Base MSRP for that truck is 34340. Add 2700 for Premium and Tech, 650 for tow, 90 for exhaust tip, 209 for mats. Add 900 for destination, and that's the MSRP of the truck.
You cannot get around the 900 destination charge. It's a federally mandated fee that is shared among all buyers. It must cost the same to ship a truck to any part of the US from any factory, so everyone pays the same amount.

I didn't realize it either but apparently they do. Now just the waiting game to see if they want to sell the truck now or not.
