It doesn't let you unselect it when doing an online build. It does add $650 to the starting price, but that gets me to the same MSRP that the dealer stated. I am not sure if there is a way to purchase the Off-Road without the tow package.

Ahhh, OK, thanks for the update. It's been 3 months since I ordered mine. I don't recall all the specifics.

In the process of ordering from Nalley Toyota in Roswell. Came off MSRP $2300, not great but better than any other local dealers. I didn't care for all of the add ons, paint protection, toyo care, window tinting, etc, so I ordered a truck. However, it has been 3 weeks and they still have not ordered the truck. I am getting frustrated and they have my $500 deposit.

The build site only lets you build what's available on local lots. The site is meant to funnel you into the dealerships. The wee on off road on my local lot that the dealer hates. He said, "who wants to buy a truck without a tow hitch? I'm never going to sell it". Ther was also another member on here who didn't think to check and he was sold a truck without a hitch.

So. The dealer should have explained. When you "order", they don't actually order your specific build. They request your preferences on their online system. Toyota will make whatever they're already planning to make. A preference on their online system just increases their chances of getting a truck allocated with your options. Welcome to the wait list.... You may be here awhile with the rest of us.

    MSRP: $38,320
Offer: $36500 to order on. (Not many ORs with tech & premium package around, let alone a Blazing Blue one)

Blazing Blue Pearl TRD Off-road 4x4 DCSB Auto w/ tow package, tech & premium (no JBL), tonneau cover.

I know this isn't the best deal, but the internet sales manager was very straight forward. The order is being placed tomorrow (Monday) when the inventory manager is in. I'll reserve my opinion until my truck is delivered.

I had another dealer match the deal, but the sales guy was trying to get me to place the order that day by saying it will take 3-6 months to get delivered if ordered today (which I've never heard of.. it's not like I'm ordering a Ferrari). I called BS, he was just trying to get me to sign with him without talking to the other dealer.

Carpet Mats w/ door sill $209

    $29,000 before taxes and DMV
    $31,667 OTD
    $31,094 MSRP

I am from the San Luis Obispo area, but after calling 250 miles to the south and the north I finally got a guy that went and got the truck and had a great price. At least I feel it's a good price.

Had a second dealer from the bay area say he could get the truck, but was pushy as hell. He even called today (got the truck yesterday) and said he would have come off the other guys price by $500-$2000.

I took the kids to my inlaws and my wife and I drove to San Jose (3.5 hours). Eric had most of the paperwork done and the truck washed and waiting!!! 10 min with him, 10 in finance and we were back on the road heading south!

    Perfect deal in my book!

    V6 Tow Package ($650)

    Prem & Tech package ($2330)
    = MSRP $36,630

    Dealer offers = $33,785 + Dealer fees $406
    which means
    OTD = $34,191

Truck will be coming from the factory - I got the opportunity to choose the above packages. Let me know what you all think.

Should I go for it? How about adding Carpet Floor Mats or All Weather Mats, which is more popular?

So I previously posted what I felt was a great offer on a TRD Off-Road 4x4 Double Cab V6 Automatic Short Bed with Premium & Technology Package with JBL Audio, Carpet Floor Mats with Door Sill Protectors, and V6 Tow Package. But I was having some trouble reconciling the savings vs. distance (8.5h drive or 4h flight with layover) vs. order

    $35,533 ($3,000 off MSRP) + $577 in fees + $2,694 in TTL + $244 estimated travel expenses. Total cost to acquire = $39,053.

Found a dealer only 75 miles away (we're both in TN) that's put a pretty good offer on the table. It's an hour drive and about $15 in gas. Only differences are carpet vs. all-weather mats and the addition of an exhaust tip. It's on the ground, but they'd have to do a dealer trade to get it.

$36,600 ($2,014 off MSRP and includes about $300 in transport costs) + $599 in fees + $2,863 in TTL + about $15 in estimated travel expenses. Total cost to acquire = $39,977.

For the additional $924, I can have the vehicle in less than a week, I get different floor mats, I get an exhaust tip, and the dealer handles the transport for me. All I have to do is drive 1 hour and pay about $15 in gas between my wife's Sienna and the new Tacoma.

Before I accept the offer, I'm waiting to hear back from a dealer in MS, which is part of the Southeast Toyota region and has a $500 consumer rebate. I don't want to be a jerk and tell the TN dealer he needs to knock another $500 off or I'll just buy from the MS dealer.

I figure, based on 2% holdback, 1% wholesale financial reserve, and somewhere in the neighborhood of $600 for TDA, that the TN dealer is going to make about $1,100 off the deal, which should be a bit over 3% profit. If I try and force them to knock another $500 off, I would feel like a jerk.

So, polling the masses here. How's that second deal sound? Basically $36,300 for the truck, $300 for transport, $600 doc fee + TTL.

    Thanks!

Just ordered my truck 500 deposit fee I was told 90 days. Dealer made sure everything was exactly what I wanted. I also got the 1000 dollar military discount. I got built 2016 taco Trd off-road manuel tran, mgm with tech package, and tow package, plus roof rack. Otd price of $33,935 so far I haven't seen a better price. I hope it's not to good to be true. Also this is probably the most informative forum of all time. South Carolina dealer

Said it's manual though, so looks like 4x4, which is an insanely good price right now for that.
