Are you saying I'm old? (laugh) Just kidding..... My stuff is newer & boring. My husband had some cool shit! He probably wishes he still had his Demon.

Very cool Jimmy!! I wheeled with many of those and have many fond memories of them kicking ass on the trails. They were big especially after putting bigger tires on them. This one guy made it look like childs play. He took that thing everywhere! Great memories.....

Thanks Jan-yeah it was cool in many ways-it had a 6" lift so I was up there-I had to toss poor Rosie up into that truck every time:D but she dug it too. She drove it a few times and I thought it was so cool to see her-a 5'2" blonde in the driver seat of a tall fat 4x4.
The motor was tired though-155hp V8 lugging that big old thing around-why they stuck that little 5.0 in such a truck is beyond me. I have more power from a 3.4v6-they have come a long way.
I bought it off a San Francisco cop who actually used it undercover in the Tenderloin district. I think he was hard on it. Anyways I traded it on a '92 Accord coupe which led me to this Tacoma. I've had quite the variety.

IIRC, Didnt they offer the 300 ci 6 cyl. in that truck too? Imagine what THAT engine would have been like!

Oh man I cannot imagine-Chris you could feel the pain when you hit the gas. The 700-R4 tranny I believe saved that motor though. The lockout converter when it kicked in sent relief.

Techmarc-yeah those T-birds were a nice car-well built and had a nice feel when driving. I was very close to getting a Super-Coupe (supercharged v6) but I couldn't stand the red color so I had to pass.. Boy that thing was QUICK! But the v8 was definately perfect for that car:)

I'm a huge prelude fan.. had a 1992 prelude as my first car then upgraded to a 2001 SH that I threw a ton of money into and was an awesome car. I miss that thing.

Then I got my DRZ400SM that was the most fun I've ever had on the street.

Then I got a pathfinder which got a sweet 16 mpg and was automatic so I had to get rid of it when I moved up to Alaska. Unfortunately had to sell the drz as well.. But it allowed me to get my tacoma so it's all good.

    Pathfinder:

First vehicle when I was 16: 1983 Ford bronco 300CI I6 and 4 speed manual (T-18 transmission I believe). My dad bought it for $300 with low compression in a few of the cylinders. we pulled the motor and had NAPA rebuild it. Awesome truck, especially in 4low and in first gear (granny gear), it could crawl up anything. No pics though:(

13mpg wasn't doing it for me so I gave it back to my dad and bought my 1991 GMC sonoma base model for 1,300 bucks. only 120k miles on it too.
    IMG_1256_993dca47eb0cd689f722920fd99a5285e794d271.jpg

Drove that for about 8 months then I got my tacoma.

Can you imagine what we'll be driving 20 years from now (when our tacomas are considered 'antique')??
